I wanted to melt when I saw these adoro photos from the Bronx Zoo! Cold weather pros like the Snow Leopard totally love the freezing weather – in fact, this season's a great time to check out these creatures at your local zoo in cold climates. Even though my personal favorite, Gus, lives further downtown at the Central Park Zoo, spot another well-camouflaged Polar Bear (along with a host of other creatures) frolicking in the white stuff in the Big Apple.

The latest tallies are in . . . and your votes named this Snow Leopard cub, Emba, as the cutest zoo babe born in '08. (Good choice since that face is pretty adoro!) I also wanted to give a special shoutout to Monifa, since the pygmy hippo's piccys were some of the sweetest I've ever seen (refresh your memory here). I love giraffes but even with all the things I do know about these guys, I never gave much thought about how you'd get the world's tallest animal from point A to point B . . . if walking was not an option! Now I've got my answer as this animal recently relocated from the Auckland Zoo in New Zealand to Taronga's Western Plains Zoo in Australia. How did Ntombi make the big trip? Why by a huuuuge boat of course, followed by a hitching a lift from this crane as he arrives at Sydney's Port Botany today.

It's easy as one, two, three for these lil boys! While two of the cheetahs recently born in Cincinnati will go off to Columbus, one will remain at the Cincinnati Zoo as part of the Cat Ambassador Program — I have to mention that he's only 3 weeks old and has already started his very own blog, Cheetah Days! His name? Well, Tommy T of course, after Tom Tenhundfeld, the main keeper at the zoo's breeding facility. Tommy Too Cute is more like it!

Cottontop Tamarin Baby Masters Cute in Just Two Weeks' Time

Monkey baby, hooray! Just so you know, I totally said those words super silly so they all sounded the same (Monk-ay bab-ay hoor-ay). Call me crazy, but I'm going loopy from gazing into the eyes of this lil cutie pie. The two-week-old peeking babe cast a spell on me while innocently catching a ride on daddy's back.
I can guess how this species got their name, too – look at those tufts of white hair on the Cottontop Tamarin, they wear that hair hue proudly! In addition to this fam at the Jerusalem Zoo, there are only about 1,800 in captivity and 1,000 in the tropical forests of Colombia (their native habitats). Check out a couple more piccys below!

Well looky here, baby! Meet Monifa – just one-month-old and already ready for the spotlight. It's shining brightly, too, as she's the first Pygmy Hippo born at Sydney's Taronga Zoo in the past 23 years . . . but don't worry, her cuteness makes up for lost time. I love baby animals (especially hippopotami) and, although this lass will eventually make a splash at over 350 pounds, she's about the size of my dog now.

Baby Lion's Got No Name, So Let's Call Him Cute

I just can't decide. It's possible the lil cub simply wants to be named, as this two-and-a-half-month babe is still nameless at zoo in Rostock, Germany. Could You Care For Chacoan Peccary Babies?

Just like that cute vicuña, I had no clue what creature to expect when I opened these images of endangered Chacoan Peccaries. Turns out the pig-like animals feature similar snouts, but belong to a different taxonomic group, than "true pigs."Native to Bolivia, Argentina, and Paraguay, the animal was thought to be extinct until 1972 when the species was discovered to still exist in the Chaco region of Paraguay.

The Scoop: Rare Bornean Orangutan Born at Brookfield Zoo

Finally, I've found an endangered animal recently born at a US zoo! This baby girl entered the world on Oct. 6 at Illinois's Brookfield Zoo to proud mama, Sophia, a 27-year-old Bornean Orangutan seen here cuddling the lil one.

Orangutans are the only great apes from Asia Along with these animals native to Borneo, there's a closely related species from the nearby island of Sumatra. Their diet is made up of 60 percent fruit and other plant parts. In fact, I think I see mama munching on a flower – decide for yourself in the pictures below.

These llama-like creatures are actually the smallest members of the camel family, rarely weighing over 130 pounds full-grown. Lil Antonio was born on Oct. 14 in the Zoologischer Garten in Berlin – the first of his species born at the zoo in 10 years.

Native to the Central Andes Mountains in South America, the rare Vicuñas have been heavily exploited for their coat, which is said to make the best wool in the world.

There's Three Times the Cute With Three Berber Lion Cubs

Proud daddy, Owambo, and mom, Somali, welcomed these three cubs – aren't they precious?! The Berber lion babes are currently exploring their home at Vienna's Schoenbrunn Zoo and are getting bigger everyday.

Now, I'd never heard of this species, but found out that they've been extinct in the wild since 1922. Zookeepers haven't gotten close enough to examine the lil ones, but think that two are male and one's a girl – try to guess for yourself in the piccys below.

I'm definitely thinking this baby animal, like all others, is pretty adoro even at just five days old. I keep looking at my finger, then back at this picture, then back at my finger . . . wow! Once found all over the continent, the European Tree Frog is endangered in Western Europe because of the negative influences of human activity on their natural habitats. This babe's just chillin' with his keeper at a German Zoo – the facility continues to breed the species in order to reintroduce them to the wild in Nuremberg and the city's surrounding areas.

The Scoop: Knut's Caretaker Dies

You remember Knut the cute, right? Sadly this Polar Bear will have to celebrate his next birthday (come December) without his famous caretaker, Thomas Doerflein. "Please, I said no close-ups right now!" But, you can't blame the photographers, lil bear because you are absolutely adoro! This six-month-old cub just had her press debut today in Berlin (once again, Germany must be land of baby animals!). Meet Lailani, a Sun Bear, born Feb. 25 to proud bear'rents (ha!), Tina and Johannes. While the species can be found in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia in the wild, this gal's at the Friederichsfelde Zoo . . . so we can check out tons of super-cute photos!

The Scoop: Meet Emba, a Baby Snow Leopard!

Hi there, sweetie pie! Although this cute cat kinda resembles Zara the lion cub, he's actually a Snow Leopard. Named Emba, he looks like he approves of his enclosure as the public gets their first view of this 3-month-old cub at the Rostock Zoo on Aug. 19. Although any baby animal is special to me, this one's even more so since he's the first one to be born at the German zoo since Snow Leopards joined the establishment back in 1989. The Scoop: Endangered Chinese Box Turtle Born in Bristol

Even though the lil guy (or girl?) is just a half-ounce and one-and-a-half-inches long, it'll eventually grow to be closer to seven inches and two pounds. This Chinese box turtle was born at the Bristol Zoo on August 12, and can live to be over 50 years old!
As happy as I am to see this newborn, unfortunately these turtles are endangered in the wild because they've been hunted for their meat or for medicinal purposes for too many years – good thing this one's safe! I think it's so adoro (says the sucker for all baby animals) so check out more pictures below.

Flocke Doesn't Need Fancy Props to Be Super-Cute

Flocke didn't kick the bucket (literally), but boy did she have some fun with one. The hands-down winner of the cutest polar bear poll turned 8 months old today. The Scoop: Baby Tiger Antares is a Cutie!

It's one small step for tigers as lil Antares takes a tentative stumble at his enclosure at the Tierpark Berlin in Germany yesterday. The 121st tiger cub was born at this zoo on June 23 and just had a public debut. As you can see, he's all ready for his closeup . . . and already knows how to tilt his fuzzy head just so. Arrgh, I'm such a sucker for baby animals.

The Scoop: Pregnant Giraffe Dies at San Francisco Zoo!

I'm saddened to report that one of the giraffes at the San Francisco Zoo passed away at 12:15 p.m. yesterday, suffering from cardiac and respiratory arrest. Gezi (mama to that cutie pie, Barbro, we saw born back in February) was one of six long-necked creatures in the city. The necropsy results came in Wednesday afternoon, and the zoo just announced that the mom to Terrance (born on May 18, 2006) and recent babe, Barbro, (Feb. 25) was in her first trimester at the time of death! According to local news reports, it also showed Gezi had enlarged lymph nodes, inflammation within her gastrointestinal tract, and more than 100 "suspicious black masses" throughout her body. Although the zoo did not elaborate what those masses were, they will perform more tests to confirm the exact cause of death of this pregnant giraffe. In the meantime, the other giraffes (one adult male, two adult females, and two calves, one male, and one female) remain in good condition.

Super-Cute Gallery: Baby Black Howler Gets Bottle Fed!

Go, Diego, go! The three-month-old Black Howler Monkey takes some sloppy sips in his home at Scotland's Edinburgh Zoo. This greedy guy looks rather hungry and friendly, happy to cling to both people . . . and his stuffed mommy substitute. Since Molly died days after giving birth, he receives 'round the clock human care – seven meals spread out over each 24-hour period! – to help him grow up healthy and strong.Howler monkeys are happiest in troops of four to eight members so this babe will be gradually reintroduced to the zoo's group in the coming weeks, with full reintroduction expected to be achieved by the end of the year.
