Trail running in the woods is one of my favorite ways to work out for so many reasons. It's peaceful, all those hills are great for my quads and booty, the shade is cooler and protects me from UV rays, and the soft dirt is easy on my joints. If you love trail running, too, here are some things to think about:
Harder to spot than curbs, tree roots and rocks are a natural part of the trail.

Lauren Conrad and Lauren Bosworth embraced their sportier sides for the National Pro Lacrosse Tour BBQ at the Sierra Mist Beach House in LA yesterday. The girls tried their hands at a little lax, but it looks like they felt more comfortable posing with their sticks in their swimsuit cover-ups. Lo gave us a peek at her two piece, but it's LC who is in the running for hottest bikini body of 2009 — be sure to vote in round one of our bracket now for a chance to win a new iPhone!

Although these legumes were traditionally cooked low and slow in the oven, today's baked beans, as they're often called, are actually cooked on top of a stove for a faster preparation that doesn't compromise flavor. Shed even more cooking time by using canned beans — or save cash by rehydrating dry beans instead. Regardless of how you prepare this dish, bacon plays a crucial part in achieving a pronounced smokiness, while molasses and dark brown sugar add a sweet flavor and pleasing caramel color.

At his seminar in Aspen, French cooking authority Jacques Pépin had a lot to say about boiling the world's most perfect eggs. While doing so, he also managed to make six stunning tomato dishes, using a number of in-season varieties, including a stacked Greek tomato salad, tomato-laced spaghetti with anchovies, and a tomato-bread gratin.
I just so happened to return from the neighborhood farmers market bearing a loaf of fresh-baked bread and vine-ripened cherry tomatoes, so I combined those with Parmesan to make Jacques's gratin.
