Fall is my favorite time of year, mostly due to the great weather, but it's really the season's fashions that get me all a twitter! I'm getting set for the weather change in my wardrobe, so it's only natural that I get North all caught up, too – he's one hip hound if I do say so myself! I'm a fan, Amanda's a fan, and even Christina's a fan. Now, we spot Natalie Portman toting her cute pooch across the country in a Sherpa, too! I have this very model of the popular brand because of its special flap features: You can roll and snap up the sides to let a pet breathe the fresh air, but then pull down the shades for some shut-eye on the plane.

It's also a practical purchase from the price standpoint as well – the Sherpa Roll-Up normally retails for $85 and up but I did a quick search to see what deals I could sniff out. Lo and behold I found the small size for just $55, the medium one for $76, and the largest version for $88. If I didn't see the mesh, I'd swear this was a simple hiking pack! The Pet-a-go-go Petpack ($140) is perf for those sporty dog-loving types. Even though I've seen these in stores in the past, I would definitely do a double take if I spotted one of these girls on the street. Though there are many variations of this ~~baby~~ doggy carrier, products like the Legs Out Front Pet Carrier ($27.50 and up) are designed to promote bonding. A lot of bonding. As much as LilSugar loves those slings to snuggle her babe, I don't think I'm ready to tote my pup legs out – are you?

When I spotted this classy camel-colored bag under the arm of Antonio Sabato at the 7th annual Nuts for Mutts Dog Show and Pet Fair to benefit New Leash on Life, I made it my morning mission to locate a similar faux ostrich bag. Even though Antonio's lucky pooch gets a mock ostrich carrier, little did I know that my search for it would lead me to an authentic ostrich pet carrier . . . with an equally shocking price tag. I'm always talking about how important it is to travel with your pets safely – and it doesn't hurt to do it in style – but I think this number only does one thing really well . . . empty your wallet! I saw the Global Gallivanter Trunk ($1,985) on Born Rich the other day and, although it looks luxurious with its damask lined interior and rich Napa leather exterior, it just doesn't seem very comfy. Although, it does have straps to hold a few of your pet's accessories (bowl, leash, harness, and a toy), which could come in handy if you are strapped for space. But, with the price tag being almost two grand, I happen to think my pooch would be happier in his crate! Source

Although my pal already bought a pretty pricey carrier for her new pup, I fell in love with this London Pet Tote ($99) while scouring the Internet for our Collar Matching Mission, and only wish that North was still a baby so I could have a reason to buy it for his bus trips! It seems North is my excuse to buy things more than I realize!This product got me wondering how many people actually tote their pets around, not just on public transportation, but just walking around the city or even in the suburbs. FuzzyNation Handbags Take on Pup Chic Shape

So I'm not entirely convinced the makers of the FuzzyNation Handbags ever imagined pups would be carried in their bags, but it would certainly be a sight to behold.

The bags, which range in cost from $130 to $180, are made of metallic leather or faux alligator fabric and come with an adjustable leather strap. Now I know many of you love your pooches – and toting them around – would you substitute one of these bags on a dogs-not-welcome excursion?

Pampered Pals: Sleepypod Mini For the Little Kitty

We talk so much about crates and carriers, and how handy they are when it comes to travel, but the design of this carrier seems to be totally unique . . . and perfect for the kitties! Celebrity Redo: Todd Oldham

In big cities like the big apple, if you're taking public transit, hailing a cab, or trying to ~~sneak~~ bring a doggie into a shop, you're often only allowed if your pet fits in a carrier. But, I remember from one of our first PetMarking missions, there are plenty of cute cases out there for people to choose and use! I don't agree with dog-as-accessory, and I think putting a pup in your purse – a bag not sold specifically for pet purposes – can hurt both the doggie and the bag. Now, Todd Oldham's certainly a busy man – being the new creative director of Old Navy causes him to jet between NYC and SF and sometimes, I'd imagine, he just grabs the first bag laying around before running errands. While there's nothing wrong with his classic L.L. Bean Boat and Tote, but I'd love for him to express that preppiness with a petspecific version instead. Check out cutie pie Chester (along with Jenna Jameson) on their special visit to the Chrome Bones boutique in the Beverly Center. Stocking beds, bowls, collars, carriers, and lots of high-end puppy gear, it looks like Jenna's already a fan with her Chrome Bones carrier on hand. Although at first glance this reminded me of a popup laundry basket from Ikea, checking out the Pet Tube strapped into a car seat shed a whole new light on this creative animal carrier. Now I haven't seen the "heavy duty fabric" closeup so I can't vouch for tooth or clawproof capabilities, but it does fold conveniently for easy storage and transport when not in use. This seems to be a useful creation for small ($80) or large ($150) pets that will be content not struggling to stay in this well-ventilated spot...with the optional cushion pillow ($30-$95), of course. North already has his own carseat so I'm not rushing out to buy another, but share your thoughts on this item in the comments below!

Found! Britney's New Carrier (and Dog?)

Britney made a pit stop at Pets of Bel Air last Friday . . . and appears to have walked out with a new dog! As shocked as I am by this addition to her brood, I do approve of the luxe Kwigy-bo pet carrier she toted out as well.
