Elephant Awarness Month may be nearing its close but the celebration for Mimi and Dolly is far from over. These two lucky ladies at the Denver Zoo got a chance to play with their food, in this case two ginormous pumpkins, one weighing in at 425 pounds and the other at 660 pounds. I'm saddened to report that Mimi LaRue died Tuesday of natural causes at the age of 11. This Pug was a beloved furry family member and died surrounded by those who loved her most including Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott, and their two children, son Liam and 10-day-old daughter, Stella. So maybe the pooch was a lil overweight, but – oh my – wasn't she always spotted being super stylish all over the place?

Sadly, Mimi LaRue passed away but she's far from long gone from my mind – how many dogs have we seen sporting tulle for goodness sake? It's not just me who loved this pup, Tori Spelling herself said:
She was not just a dog but a fashion icon and legend amongst Hollywood dogs. She received fan email on a regular basis, and I often joked she got sent more designer clothes than me!

Adding a crocheted flower to that collar is a simple way to get festive for a girly pooch, but what are the boy pups to do? If you're seeking a new, unique pattern, Mimi Green also offers a Summer line with handstitched monogramming on all pretty designs.
The new colors seen here work for either gender and have matching leashes, too.

You clean the kitchen and mop the floor so why does it look like a food fight palace? Junior just can't help himself from throwing every last piece of food on the floor when he's decided he's full.
Praise be to Mimi the Sardine for their vibrant and whimsical splashmats ($30).

It's warm today and it got me thinking about Spring clothing. Many pregnant ladies like to hide behind chunky sweaters and sweatpants but I think burgeoning bellies should be showcased and celebrated. And with the temperatures on the rise (thank goodness), there may be no other choice.

After five years as the lead restaurant reviewer of the New York Times, Frank Bruni is hanging up his napkin, the newspaper announced today.
As the restaurant critic at one of the nation's preeminent publications, in the last five years, Bruni has been arguably the most influential food writer in America, catapulting restaurants like Napa's Ubuntu to fame while sending others, like Jeffrey Chodorow's Kobe Club, to a controversial early grave. But come August — around the same time that his new food memoir gets published — he will step down from his position.
