Although titled Groundhog Day, the film starring Bill Murray didn't really tell us much about the mysterious rodent. Originally a German holiday, the first American reference to Groundhog's Day was in 1841 via a diary entry noting the big job the little guy has of determining whether we will soon be basking in the budding spring, or bundling up for another six weeks of winter. Do you know anything about the groundhog?

Today, in case you forgot, is Groundhog Day. If you have young kids explain the concept to them and make these cute little cupcakes together. It can be like a Friday afternoon treat.

Britney Spears didn't flash her famous smile out to dinner with a friend at Sur in LA last night. She has been busy lining up appearances to promote her album and the latest is at the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting on December 3. While she'll be back on stage soon, before then we'll get a peek into Britney's year with MTV's For the Record documentary.
