Greenpeace recently did a study on gaming consoles and found that the level of toxic chemicals used to manufacture them were higher than what's allowed in children's toys.
The study was conducted on a PlayStation 3, an Xbox 360 and a Wii, all bought in Europe (where they don't classify game consoles as toys). All consoles were guilty of containing toxics like Phthalates, bromium, and PVC — which pose a threat to both the environment and sexual development in humans.

If you've ever wanted the chance to name a wild animal, your time has come! Greenpeace is sponsoring a whale naming competition for the humpbacks traveling on the Great Whale Trail. This includes the material on a clothing label, ingredients in food, and even chemicals in cleaning products. It's astonishing how many household cleaning products contain toxic ingredients that can be harmful to your health.

Emma Watson was out at London's Whisky Mist this Easter weekend, looking fresh-faced and natural on her night out. She recently shot an ad campaign for Burberry — to be revealed later this year — and apparently managed to oust the other female competition from the shoot. It's been reported that instead of being photographed with other female models in the shoot as planned, Emma now will share the ad space with some male models instead!

Just when I thought Apple was finally getting greener, the environmental group Greenpeace decided to run tests on the iPhone to determine just how toxic its inner parts really are.
The Greenpeace tests revealed that the iPhone contains hazardous substances like bromine, chlorine and phthalates with the antenna containing high levels of bromine and the headphones containing high levels of PVC. The iPhone investigation also showed that the iPhone's battery is glued and soldered in to the handset, making it difficult to replace the battery or dispose of it appropriately.

Jonathon Porritt, an environmental adviser for the UK, maintains that contraception and abortion must be at the core of anti-global-warming policies. In a report to be published next month, the UK's Sustainable Development Commission, headed by Porritt, recommends that the government limit population growth with better family planning programs.
People cannot reduce their total environmental impact without reducing the number of children they have, according to Porritt.

After receiving a low green ranking in Greenpeace’s Green Guide to Electronics, Apple has been making significant changes to be environmentally friendly. With the release of the MacBook Air, which includes a mercury- and arsenic-free display, a PVC- and BFR-free circuit board, and an aluminum case (plus less packaging), Apple's green score has already increased to 6.7. And now it has just filed a patent to place solar cells on portable devices.
