I know what an investment a dog bed can be. You pick out just the right size, color, shape, and feel, then dig into your pocketbook cause your furry friend is totally worth the price. But, after a few months, do these new digs seem totally worn out, leaving you searching for yet another new bed?

Good things come in barrels. Barrels of laughs, barrels of monkeys, oh yeah, and barrels of wine! I can't get past the neat, new life an ordinary wine barrel – red, from the looks of it – gets as a doggie bed.

It's been a while since North's tested out a new product. He's pretty occupied these days, Twittering and all. More online time means he's extra tired at night – yawn.Since the saying goes let sleeping dogs lie, I took a mini-break to blog about his new petLINENS bed.

Sleek and chic, the BowHaus is anything but typical! Taking a modern approach to the crate concept, this doggy den doubles as a tabletop for your things, providing you have a home where cocktails (or snacks) and canines mix it up. A limited edition release, one reader and her furry friend will win a BowHaus (retail value: $599) and one (1) Bed to fit (retail value: $89.99).

So maybe this giant fuzzy dog model caught my eye first, but the brightly colored Bodhi Lotus Dog Bed ($450 to $900) got my attention second. The design was inspired by "the sacred arts of the Far East" and features couture embroidery applied on soft microsuede covers.
There's something incredibly earthy, Zen, and fun about the bed, but it's hard not to get caught up on the very spendy price tag.

I've been spending a substantial amount of time trying to cruise the Internet for steals and deals, and my latest hunt uncovered these super-cute Polka-Dot covers from Pottery Barn. With medium ($24.99) and large ($29.99) still available, if you've picked up a bed insert in the past (or already own any cushion either 36-x-48 inches or 50-inch square), here's a great way to switch up the pattern this season. At these highly discounted prices, it's definitely cheaper than buying a whole new bed instead.

PetSugar will agree that dogs, especially North, can be a girl's best friend. So if you're a fan of furry, four-legged friends, why stop with just a dog bed in your home? Instead, why not populate your pad with some more design-savvy items, like this Avalisa Wool Rug ($310-1360)?

Roll up and go with this crate pad! I'm always looking for easy ways to stash a pad for my pooch – and this travel bed comes in four sizes that all have a handy snap to fold and snap onto my pack. If you're like me, you travel light enough to just have one bag, but not light enough to have room inside it for anything other than clothes and shoes!

At first glance, you may mistake these pet beds for the ever popular Crocs. Now, the shoes themselves fill me with questions (how? why?
