It's time again for confessions from PetSugar: Remember when I thought North was surely dying when he had a reverse sneezing attack?! Well, before my pup even joined my life, I spent a full year thinking (OK, obsessing) over getting a dog – I was living in a non-pet-friendly place and it really kept me going 'til I was ready to move. I did quite of bit of research, volunteering at a shelter, speaking with breeders, and cornering dog owners, but the Boston that inspired me most still sticks out in my mind. It was one afternoon in Washington Square Park where I spent at least an hour watching a pet owner try to get her Boston (with one blue eye, one brown eye) to obey. He had the listening down and would sit, but the minute she got close enough to grab him, he would dash off 10 feet and sit again. I couldn't get him off my mind when I was making, and narrowing down my lists. Eventually, it came down to just two, the Boston Terrier and the Border Terrier, we all know what decision I made! Now I wanna hear your confessions in the comments below – how long did it take you to choose your dog, and how did you make the decision?

Big Dogs or Small Dogs?

While I made my choice for a Boston Terrier partially based on apartment space, I can think of breeds both big and small that I love. I have friends that strongly identify as "big dog" or "small dog" people – and frequently turn their noses up (or down) at the other – how about you?

Out and About: D.O.G. Pet Boutique

Late last week I got an urgent phone call from a close college friend. She was in LA on her move back from Colombia leaving that evening on her way to DC for work. Her continent-crossing pittie, Baby, is (obvs) too big for clothes for the pocket-sized pups but she was worried about the warm-weather doggie getting too chilly and wanted to pick up a sweatshirt for the trip. She didn't have the time to order one of these fun hoodies I found so I immediately thought of the best store to send her to - The D.O.G. Boutique (that's the dee-oh-gee, for those in the know).

A few hours later, I got a happy text from her when she was sitting in the airport – hooray! Not only was the saleswoman super sweet, they found an awesome pink hoodie at this West Hollywood outpost. D.O.G.'s online store doesn't even hit half of their cool products so, if you're in LA, definitely check out this store!

So often it can seem like the cute canine clothing is limited to those lil pets under 20 pounds. It can be rather confusing to look at sizes online as, what's an XL to one company could be a pooch of 25 pounds where as to another XL is a pup of over 100. The best way to guarantee fit is to see the item in person or when companies list weights and measurements for their apparel. Out and About: Santa Barbara's Big Dog Parade

Of all the wild events offered across the country, I've always wanted to attend the Santa Barbara Dog Parade and Canine Festival! Held on the first weekend of June of each year, it's one of the largest dog parades in the country bringing animal lovers and families from all over the U.S. to southern California to show off their stuff. All the pictures make it look like a blast!

Proceeds from this annual event go towards the Big Dog Foundation, a non-profit that has helped raise millions of dollars for dog-friendly charities like search-and-rescue teams and animal sanctuaries. Lucky for us, Renees3 brought B-Bop and doggie BFF, Qi to this event earlier this month, adorably dressed as Mark Anthony and Cleopatra – and shared her pictures with us! Warm Up For Yoga? You Bet

I am a big fan of vinyasa flow-style yoga, but in a typical yoga flow class you do anywhere from 20 to 40 yoga push-ups, as my favorite instructor calls the vinyasa, or the link between poses. Needless to say, all those chaturangas really work your upper body. This is why I like to warm up a bit before yoga to lubricate my joints and prime my wrists to take some weight. Here are a few moves I like to do before stepping into my first downward dog:

Wrist figure eights: Begin with your elbows bent and your hands in front of you, like you were holding a tray. Begin to draw sideways figure eights with your hands allowing your wrists to move. The palms will alternate between being up and down. Reverse the direction of circling after 10 to 12 reps.
Push a wall: Start with your hands in loose fists just below your shoulders. Spread your finger wide as you push an imaginary wall away from you, feeling the power of your arms from your shoulders to your fingertips. Bring your hands back to starting position and repeat 10 times.

As a former NYC resident, North and I could often be found strolling the streets of the West Village. Even though our favorite dog supply shop has long since shut its doors, the new West Village Collection from Up Country makes me reminisce about our time in the Big Apple. Of the patterns, Gothic Vine brings back fond memories of the pretty brownstones covered with these tangles and makes me miss our long jaunts in the city. With collars and leashes for about $20 each, do any of these styles catch your eye, too?

Amanda Seyfried Is Famous, but Is She Happy?

We can hardly judge a person's happiness by one article, but April's Esquire interview with Amanda Seyfried makes fame sound like the view from the top is not so big and bright.

It's clear the interviewer likes Amanda. References of adorableness are scattered throughout, and silences are explained as pensive pauses. "Her eyes demand an adjective, beg for a simile," he writes, "Her eyes are winsome, like two parachutes." Yet, Esquire's depiction is more of a weary, young woman than a rising starlet flush with success. Some examples:

On food: I'm on a raw-food diet. It's intense. And sort of awful. Yesterday for lunch? Spinach. Just spinach. Spinach and some seeds.
On pets: Most of the time I just want to go home and throw the dog a stick. Can anything be more obvious than throwing a stick? I need to be needed.
On photo shoots: I learned a long time ago that photographs are not theater. This is not acting. It's pretending. I pretend I'm looking at a man who is looking right at me, a man who sees me as exceptionally clever and adventurous.

Is this a good reminder that famous isn't always fabulous, or just a bad interview?
