Recently during one of my visits to the gym, I broke out the Agility Dots ($34.95 for 12) in hopes of breaking the boredom of yet another leg routine. Shia LaBeouf made his way to and from his trailer during a rainy morning on the set of Money Never Sleeps in NYC yesterday. After braving the elements, he finally picked up a matching umbrella to keep his wardrobe dry. Shia's been seen in everything from suits and ties alongside Michael Douglas to riding motorcycles in leather with Carey Mulligan while filming the movie, which is a lot more clothing than we were used to seeing him in over the Summer.

I have no doubt that pole dancing, as a press release for California's first pole-dance championship next month puts it, "requires strength, agility, flexibility, and endurance." Nor do I believe that pole dancing is "just posing against a pole" but rather involves "spinning, inverts, climbing, and power holds."
But what does it mean to elevate to a sport an act that originated in strip clubs and which symbolizes a woman's role as a sex object?
