Gibson (the Guinness Record holder for the world's tallest dog) was diagnosed with bone cancer back in April and, sadly, he recently lost his battle with the disease. The beautiful Harlequin was undergoing chemotherapy and, when he needed to have his front right paw amputated, his owner started Three Paws For the Cause to raise awareness about canine cancer.

Look who made a special visit to the Ugly Betty set – America Ferrera's two furry friends. The Golden Retriever named Buddy seems to be needing some extra love, while Lucy (the Great Dane) needs some extra warmth with that sleek coat. It's so nice to take time out of a busy filming day for some QT with her pets especially when that includes snuggles and kisses!

Can you believe we've learned about 30 dogs so far on Dogs 101? (Refresh your memory on them here.) Well, I tuned in last week and took some notes on the five latest breeds. I've included a fun fact, and furry face, for each pooch – check 'em out in this slideshow, then tune in to Animal Planet on Saturday at 8 p.m to meet more dogs!

Why so sad, Axle? Did Newton steal your toy? Or did mom leave you home while she went out this time?

Growing puppies not only eat you out of house and home, often times their growth spurts make them appear doubled in size practically overnight! That's definitely the case with this cute Great Dane, Azul. He started off pretty small (for a dane) next to his new sis, Sydney, but after a short while, he made that Rottweiler look downright teensy.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to spend an hour with Zac Efron! He and his castmates in Me and Orson Welles, Claire Danes and Christian McKay, talked about their new movie in a Q&A session with UK journalists alongside their director Richard Linklater. Zac looked handsome and casual in a blue t-shirt and jeans, and fiddled with a bottle top on the table while talking, he was pretty self-deprecating, as was Claire who looked gorgeous and was really funny.

A cute Great Dane named Titan recently captured the Guinness World Record as the world's tallest (living) pooch! His record breaking last week made me think about all those other animals currently topping the charts for age, size and more. Test yourself on some bizarre newsmakers and start this extreme animal quiz!

You don't need to remember this Titan since he's still alive. As the only animal honored in the 30 Guinness records announced on Nov. 12, this pooch really measures up!

Marmaduke, the comic strip about a giant-sized Great Dane and his owners, finally has a voice. Owen Wilson — who's no stranger to working with dogs, given Marley and Me — has just signed on to lend his voice to the trouble-making pooch in the half CGI, half live-action film set to hit theaters next Summer.
Generally speaking, I'm not a huge fan of the animated and live-person combo.
