Although this month's biggest holiday has passed, America's celebrating its favorite seasonal staples in full force. Case in point? The can't-miss National Hamburger Festival that takes place in Akron, OH, each year; New Jersey's statewide ice cream celebration; and watermelon festivals taking place everywhere from Mississippi to South Carolina.

Happy Bastille Day! While we can be grateful to the French for many things, including croques monsieur, Audrey Tatou, margarine, carbaret, etc., I'd like to applaud la France for pumping out decades of innovative and influential design. Yes, this would include la Tour Eiffel and Impressionism, but today I'm going to focus on furniture and interior accessories.

There are more breeds originating in France than just that familiar French Bulldog! Just like we brushed up on All-American breeds for the 4th, we'll honor these types for Bastille Day! I've made it multiple choice, so let's see if you can you recognize the pups I've picked.

In celebration of Bastille Day — a French holiday that celebrates the beginning of the French Revolution — Yum and I are heading to a scrumptious lunch followed by a round of croquet. Can you help me put together a French-inspired outfit? I'm not into pouf and lace; think more along the lines of Isabel Marant's Spring collection.

July's biggest holiday may have come and gone, but there's still so much to celebrate in the realm of Summer eats — whether it's salmon, sandwiches, or super-sized ketchup. Next Tuesday, don't forget to raise your glass to France's independence day. I plan to hightail it straight to my nearest French bistro to enjoy some moules frites.

In honor of Fête Nationale, or Bastille Day, I created a festive look for a garden party celebrating the holiday.
As France's tricolor flag wears red, white and blue, I decided to incorporate those colors, but not overly so, as many Fourth of July celebrations do. Inspired by Claude Monet's Red Poppies at Argenteuil, I chose a poppy printed tablecloth, and decided on French café chairs for seating.

Happy Bastille Day! In honor of this French holiday, I'm gonna test your knowledge on some dog breeds originating in this country (just like we did for St. Patrick's Day).

Bastille Day has always been a favorite celebration of mine. I must admit I use it as an excuse to indulge in a pain au chocolat for breakfast. Take this little quiz and see how French culture and the French paradox could affect your health for the better.
