In honor of Reading Is Sexy's grand opening, I'm going to start off with the series that's has been holding me in a chockhold for going on 10 years now.
Nora Roberts, writing as JD Robb in her not so far distant future has captured my attention since my very good friend lend me a copy of the 1st of the series, Naked In Death. That copy started me on my 10 year journey of hunting and gathering mission to find and read every one of the books in the series.

The Taurean's characteristics are solidity, practicality, extreme determination and strength of will - no one will ever drive them, but they will willingly and loyally follow a leader they trust. They are stable, balanced, conservative good, law-abiding citizens and lovers of peace, possessing all the best qualities of the bourgeoisie. As they have a sense of material values and physical possessions, respect for property and a horror of falling into debt, they will do everything in their power to maintain the security of the status quo and be somewhat hostile to change.

I was reading the Prevention.com blogs and I came across this interesting blog by food psychologist Brian Wansick. He talks about some differences that have been noted between people who are fruit lovers vs. veggie lovers.

1. The Eiffel Tower
A trip to the Eiffel Tower is practically mandatory for couples in Paris, but heading straight to the top with throngs of tourists isn’t the only way to go. Dinner at the Jules Verne restaurant on the second platform lets diners combine amazing views with elegant French cuisine.

Maya Angelou is an amazing woman and poet. These are very wise words (plus the quips at the end are good, too).

I've been wanting and waiting to see this multi-Oscar wining film for a very long time and the other night I finally got the chance. And I was not disappointed in the least. Considering the fact that the film opens with the headline "The Players" (I'm a sucker for old-fashioned gimmicks) and Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert are listed directly below, you know this film has to be a treat.

Vanity Fair magazine - Nov 2007: Legends
Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg on the set of the movie Slogan, June 1968. By Gilles Caron/Contact Press Images.
The Secret World of Serge Gainsbourg
Sixteen years after Serge Gainsbourg's death, his small, graffiti-covered Paris house is almost exactly as he left it—crammed with mementos of his poetic, nicotine-and-alcohol-fueled, sometimes scandalous life as France's most adored singer-songwriter, lover of Jane Birkin and Brigitte Bardot, and friend to countless taxi drivers and policemen.
