Last night, Karl Rove mentioned some interesting numbers... while the media want us to think Obama won by a landslide (and in the electoral college, he did) when you look at popular vote you see that Obama's 52% was:
- 1.3 points higher than Bush in 2004
- 3.5 points higher than Gore in 2000
- 3 points higher than Clinton in 1996
Some other interesting numbers are surfacing a couple days after the election. We were told over and over that it would be earth-shattering voter turnout, with the youth and minorities coming out in droves...

Please click the below link and vote for Smugmug. (Yes, I know Etsy is tempting.) A very awesome friend of mine owns the company (which is also awesome), and it hosts my favorite gigantic motorcycle board. I would be most appreciative.

In a new two-minute advertisement, Gwyneth Paltrow and several others urge the millions of Democratic voters living outside the country’s borders to vote in the ‘08 election.
The spot, titled “Where In The World Will YOU Vote?”, hopes to grab the attention of the more than 6 million estimated Democrats abroad… and hopefully get them to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
“I heard people say that they didn’t have a right to vote, from abroad,” says the ad that the London-based Gwyneth helps narrate.

Today -- I voted early!!! No one can tell you how to vote, that's your decision to make. I just ask that you be informed and go out and vote.

Reading tea leaves is a favorite game played by Supreme Court watchers, despite the fact that it's never going to reveal much. Government institutions regularly leak information -- but not the high court.

Oprah Winfrey spoke on her live panel on Friday about voting early in Chicago, Illinois, where she lives. She said she went to the polls early and waited in line because she has her live show and didn’t want to be late. Oprah waited for over an hour, during which she joked that she heard some ladies behind her saying “That’s Oprah, you know who she’s voting for.” Once she voted, Oprah said she was scared and shaking to discover that her vote for president hadn’t been registered by the machine when she went back to check.

NEW YORK - With the presidential polls just over a month away, tens of thousands of U.S. war veterans are still wondering whether or not they will be able to vote for the candidate of their choice.
About 100,000 former soldiers who are currently residing in government-run facilities can no longer vote because they cannot register without assistance from volunteers due to disabilities and serious illnesses.
