Christina Aguilera Perfume

Christina Aguilera by Christina Aguilera (2007)

Singer Christina Aguilera had already previously released an eponymous fragrance with a retro flair in which she was dressed in an emerald-colored dress looking very much like her model, Marylin Monroe. A new perfume also called Christina Aguilera will launch in October of 2007, which explores the pin-up theme anew and seems inspired by the sexy dress with black lace made by Marcel Rochas for Mae West, which appeared on the Femme packaging afterwards.

Christina Aguilera explains that for her jasmine is a symbol associated with old-style Hollywood glamor and so she wanted this note in her perfume from the very beginning......

The blackcurrant note is inspired by her honeymoon in Bali as it fruity-liquorish-y aroma is linked with happy memories of sitting on a veranda at sunset in the cool sipping cocktails.

Top notes are like an exotic fruity sorbet with notes of mandarin and intense blackcurrant. Heart notes are peony, stephanotis, jasmine, and plum. Base notes are amber, vanilla, and musk.

Christina Aguilera Eau de Parfum
50 ml ca. 33,00 Euro*
30 ml ca. 24,00 Euro*
15 ml ca. 16,00 Euro*

Body Lotion, 200 ml ca. 15,00 Euro*
Shower Gel, 200 ml ca. 14,00 Euro*

Deodorant Aerosol, 150 ml ca. 12,00 Euro*

PetSugar Street Team: Pepper & Tanky Puppy Love Perfume

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical when receiving a tester of Pepper & Tanky pet perfume in the mail. But, after hearing about LilPeaPod's experience, I may just give my bottle of "Big Dog" a try next time North and I hit the town and don't have time for a full-on bath! She writes:

It was a rainy week in SF and, after a few walks, Samson had that "wet dog" scent we all know so well, even though I had just bathed him a few days before. We were headed to a family event, so I didn't want the little guy (or me) to get teased for being stinky. So I whipped out the Pepper and Tanky Puppy Love ($44) perfume that PetSugar asked me to try. Smelling like fresh baby powder, the doggie perfume did the trick for our day with the fam, and Samson was (of course) the center of attention - without a single stinky dog complaint!

Sweet smells ahead! Made and tested in France, Pepper & Tanky is paraben-free and hypo-allergenic, so it's safe to use on your furry friends. Plus, it comes in four different fragrances to satisfy your sniffer: Peaches N' Cream, Vanilla Woof, Big Dog, and Puppy Love. Would you use specially-formulated doggie perfume on your pup?

How to make your own perfume.

Reputable designers create perfumes with distinctively fragrant aromas. You probably know that these prestigious items are often pricey. Why not create your own perfume to smell elegant without the need to shell out several hundreds of dollars for only a few bottles?

When making your own perfume, you must be aware of the fragrances that go well with your own bodily scent. People who sweat a lot should wear a subtle fragrance or the mixture of perfume and sweat will make the person smell pungent. On the other hand, folks who do not sweat much can wear strong scents since they don’t have to worry about the chemical reactions between perfume oils and their bodily secretions.
Materials Used:

•alcohol
•Lavender oil
•Bergamot oil
•water
•perfume bottle
•small jar
Procedure:

1.Purchase the oils from a reputable cosmetics shop. Never settle for the cheap ones so that you can produce perfume that has long- lasting scent.

2.Grab a used perfume bottle from your closet. If you do not have any available, you can use a small vial that is tipped with a spraying apparatus.

3.Fill a small jar with water.

4.Place 10 droplets of both oils in the jar.

5.Close the jar’s cover, then shake it until the components are completely mixed.

6.Open the lid. If you do not like the scent, you can adjust the amounts of both oils, until you get a fragrance that you like.

7.Store the jar in your closet for two days. Keep it away from sunlight to preserve the perfume’s scent.

8.After two days, get the jar and transfer some of its contents to the perfume bottle.

Making perfume initially may be a bit costly since you will have to experiment with the oils until you perfect your scent. Once you master the art though, you’ll be able to create scents that can rival the popular ones available on the market.

Types of Perfumes and Fragrance Categories

Types of Perfumes and Fragrance Categories

Perfume has always been a vital part of human culture: people
have perfumed their hair and bodies with oils, resins, flower
and herb extracts and animal scents since earliest history.
Wearing scent is pleasurable; it is an expression of
individuality; it attracts mates and makes us nice to be
close to. Perfumes are more for the wearer: they make us feel
wonderful.

Fragrances are classed-and priced-by their alcohol content,
with the least expensive being eau de toilettes and eau de
colognes containing between 3% and 8% fragrance with the other
92-97% of the content being made up of alcohol, water and
color. Eau de parfum contains actual perfume oils of 8-15%.
You pay more for perfume because it is stronger at application
and lasts longer than eau de toilette. Perfume (or "parfum")
contains somewhere between 15% and 30% of perfume oils and
lasts longer than other scent types-typically around six hours.
Always try to take a sample of perfume home to try for a week
or two and make sure it is the right fragrance and strength
for you before buying.

                            *

Fragrance Blending Families
Fragrances may be floral, spicy, woody, herbal, musky, powdery
(also called "chypre") or "aqueous" a recent designation for
aromatherapy scents that are based more on a concept of a
"watery" smell than an actual scent. The recent rediscovery of
herbal and floral scents combined with recent technology for
scent capture has created new markets for subtle extracts-
"headspace" scents extracted through the use of gas
chromatography, creating entirely new classes of perfumes.
Food scents such as vanilla, chocolate, cherry and coffee have
made their way into perfumery to the chagrin of many classical
perfumers and to the happiness of younger customers who like
fruity, foody, unsophisticated scents. Many perfumes combine
the scent categories, creating combinations such as "Oriental"
which is usually identified by heavy florals and spices.
Aldehydes, which made their debut with the heady scent of
Chanel No. 5, are pure chemicals whose particular odors are
named by letters rather than names. Aldehydes, while completely
man-made are also compelling and immensely popular, making up
many of the elegant perfumes of today.

Aroma Sanctum Perfumes

Hello Ladies,

I wanted to share with you a place that I always look forward to visiting, Aroma Sanctum Perfumes (located in Salem, MA). They specialize in designing perfumes with natural ingredients. Akuura Kulak, the owner of Aroma Sanctum Perfumes, specializes in custom fragrance as well. If you're in the area you should make an appointment to see her, because she will work closely with your personal preferences and skin chemistry to create your "ultimate signature scent". If you're not in the area, you can order online or by phone.

My favorite scent is tart, which is described as: blackberry cream pastry that gradually melts into a soft seductive perfume with tuberose and musk.

I like to purchase this scent in the aloe vera moisturizer and body mist.

There are 28 different house blend scents available. They even have samples of these blends available for $4 each, which is reasonable enough that you could purchase a few to enable you to find your favorite.

My mother and I try to make a trip out to Salem each fall, and Aroma Sanctum is always the highlight of the trip.

Long lasting Perfumes

I like to smell good, and it makes me feel sexier at times. Problem is, I have trouble finding scents that last all day or doesn't smell up a whole room. Here are a few that I have found that I really love.

All prices are based upon Northwest Ohio, depending on where you live it could be cheaper or more expensive.

1. Curious by Britney Spears - a small bottle is around $10.00 while a big bottle is about $20.00. I really like this scent because it stays with you all day and if you put it on your clothes, they will still smell the next day. Not overly powerful but someone can smell it within 5 feet from you. I wear this when I go over to friends house or just out to eat.
2. Blue Seduction by Antonio Banderas - a small bottle is $10.00 while a big bottle is close to $30.00. This is another fabulous scent where it lingers for awhile. It doesn't last as long as Curious, but it has a more powerful scent to it and gradually fades over time. Might need to re-apply after awhile, but it smells great. Not to mention Antonio is on the box and man, does he look hot. I wear this on a regular basis, but mostly when I am going to be in a room full of people and I want people to be able to smell my perfume.
3. J'adore by Christian Dior - now this is a splurge at about $60 to $70 for a big bottle. But this is my favorite of all time. Men LOVE this perfume. Every time I wear it, strange men would tell me I smell good and ask me what I was wearing. This scent makes me feel like a goddess. Plus this stuff will last all day long without re-applying it. If you have to splurge on something, try this perfume. I wear this on special occasions or when I actually can go on a date with my husband and I want to smell really good, nice restaurants, blues bar, etc.
4. Cotton Candy and Cucumber Melon by Body Fantasies - $2.00 for a small bottle to $10.00 for a big bottle. I usually find this stuff at Rite Aid or once in awhile at Dollar General. It is more of a body mist, but it makes you smell good. It doesn't last very long, maybe 3 hours or so before you have to re-apply, but the smell of these two are fabulous. It makes you feel young and flirty and men seem to really like the cotton candy while women like the cucumber melon. I wear this whenever I am going to the movies or to the supermarket and even right after I get out of the bath tub.
5. Pink Ice by Rue 21 - $10.00 a bottle. Almost smells like cotton candy and Blue Seduction put together, overall a very nice smell. It lasts about half a day but it is cheap and it smells great. I like to wear this when I have jeans and a nice shirt on, casual everyday.
6. Ici by Coty - $20.00 to $25.00 a bottle. This is the stuff you want to get if you want to smell like a flower. This is extremely feminine, and would work well with skirts or dresses, to an office party or to an office. Lasts about half a day.

Anne Hathaway douses herself in perfume to get into character

I’m kind of torn about actress Anne Hathaway, 25. She has been wearing daring, gorgeous outfits that make her look like a rare jewel. She has a very unique exotic look that’s borderline geeky and not cookie cutter at all. There’s something contrived about her, though, and she plays it so safe and saccharine sweet in interviews that you wonder what she’s really like and if she has a personality behind her giant eyes and wide mouth. Her latest interview, with UK’s Hello!, is kind of eyeroll-inducing in that she gives such bland, non-committal responses that sound practiced and trite. She’s smart though, and seems to be trying to maintain control over her public image.

The only interesting thing she said in the interview is that she uses so much perfume on set that it bothers her castmates. I hate when people do that, and too much perfume can give me a headache. I knew there was a reason she got on my nerves. Hathaway is talking to Hello! to promote a new perfume she’s endorsing for Lancome. She also says that she’s a fan of Amy Winehouse and enjoys reading and hiking:

Anne, you’ve achieved so much success in such a short time. How has it changed your life?
“It’s been a change for the good, and at times a change for the worse. Success at a young age can make you cautious. During a time most people are tying to find themselves, I was always hyper-aware of responsibilities. It’s nothing to really complain about; it’s just the reality.”

You are famous for trying to keep your private life private. Why is that?
“That’s definitely my choice. I don’t ever want to be described as a personality. There are people who enjoy the spotlight and having their picture taken, but I’m really not one of them. If I don’t have something to talk about that I’m proud of, it makes me uncomfortable to receive that kind of attention… I believe in privacy.”

What do you do in your spare time between films?
“I love hiking - to escape into the open air gives me such a sense of freedom. I love nature and so it’s always relaxing to disconnect in the middle of nowhere. Reading is something I enjoy very much as it also helps me relax and reading is a way of traveling in your mind. And listening to Amy Winehouse. Her voice is incredible and she had the wonderful ability to revisit classic blues with so much modernity.”

I understand that sometimes you use scent as a way into a character
“Absolutely. For me, scent is very important for my characters. I don’t feel like I’ve found them unless a few elements are in place and one of them is their fragrance. I played one character and her scent was lavender for the entire film. I think everyone was happy when the movie wrapped!”

[From Hello! Magazine, print edition, October 14, 2008]

I wouldn’t say Hathaway is famous for valuing her privacy. She dragged her conman boyfriend around to many events and was even photographed giving him a faux-BJ on a boat for the nearby paparazzi. She does get it right when she says she doesn’t “want to be described as a personality.” How would you describe her then? Well dressed? Prompt? Beautiful?

Hathaway also says she’s a tomboy who always loved to act, and calls Brokeback Mountain her favorite film to have worked on and says “it’s as perfect a movie as can be made.”

Did Anne’s scent overpower you? She’s a great actress but it’s hard to tell who she is exactly. She’s got her look going for her at least.

Challenge #2: Your Favorite Perfume!

I know I said I wouldn't post these till Wednesday, but I want all of our overseas friends to see it and be able to participate too. So late Tuesday night it is

Alright girls, for challenge #2 I want you to beautymark your favorite perfume. The one perfume that you always have as back-up; the one you find yourself always going back to. (Granted, I think I have found about 3 more perfumes that I just LOVE! I am restraining myself and beautymarking the perfume I will always have as long as it's on the market).

Instructions
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What is and how do I beautymark?
Click me!
After you follow the excellent tutorial and install fab finding into your links, go find your fave perfume. Once you have found it, click on the That's Fab link (as shown in tutorial). This screen will come up:
Click on Beauty Mark.
After you have chosen the picture and are at the description screen, I would *love* it if you did a couple things for me:
♥ Use the phrase "Challenge 2" in your keywords. Don't forget, if you are going to use other keywords as well, put a comma between them so it identifies them as two different keywords.
♥ Put it in this group
♥ Put "Challenge #2" in the title (this isn't as important as the first two, but still much much appreciated!)
Go ladies go!
