Went to Charleston, NC last summer to visit relatives and saw this line of news stands (which we do not have in Spokane). Thought the shot was interesting so I colorized the boxes via Photoshop. Canon.

Doha, Qatar - For years now, those of us working in and around international media have grown used to hearing about slashed foreign news budgets – an overseas bureau cut here, yet another correspondent post dropped there.
The shrinking of news from the far reaches of the globe is a problem only partially addressed by a few financially constrained news agencies and a couple of hopeful media upstarts with untried business models or limited audiences.

I hope the cast of Glee isn't exhausted yet, because they're going to be working right through their Summer vacations. After months of rumblings and rumored, it's been confirmed that there will be a mini Glee live tour. From May 18-28, the kids will make stops in Phoenix, LA, and Chicago before finishing things off in New York (here's all the dates and ticketing info).

It was certainly an interesting year for tech news! From laptops and netbooks going designer, The White House embracing tech and in-flight Wifi becoming commonplace. Social networks made us more social, and we got our fill of technology "celebs" on reality TV.

The nation's capitol is now the sixth jurisdiction in the US where gay couples can marry. But as wedding bells ring today for happy couples, the local Catholic Church sounded the alarm. Following Congress's approval of DC's same-sex marriage law, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington decided to no longer offer health insurance to any spouses of employees in order to avoid covering gay spouses.
