Once upon a time in a place overrun with monkeys, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each. The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest, and started catching them. Birthday cake for an 8 year old girl who LOVES monkeys!! The cake was french vanilla with vanilla buttercream in light blue and light green. The stripes and diamonds were made from colored fondant, as well as the adorably playful monkeys lounging on the sides and top of the cake.

Last Thursday My grandmother called and asked if i wanted to add something to the mail baby shower for my 2nd cousin who is due with a little girl at the end of Oct. My cousin is a couple of years older then I so we spent a lot of time together when we were younger. If i have time to make something I'd rather do that then go to the store and buy something.

This cake was made for a birthday party for 2 year old twin boys. The cakes were french vanilla flavored, and the filling and icing were vanilla buttercream colored turquoise and light green to match the party's theme colors. The stripes and diamonds were marshmallow fondant (YUM!), and the monkies were hand sculpted using plain Wilton fondant (not so yummy).
