Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen back in court again

I’m not exactly sure what Denise Richards is famous for, I thought she was a glamor model (as in, posed in Playboy a few times) but apparently she also had a film career. Then she got too old to swan about nude, which for most of us was around 4 but for her it was 30, so now she stars on a reality television show. Despite her nudity and topless paparazzi chasing (NSFW), the show isn’t drawing in viewers, so she’s decided to drag out her divorce/custody battle. Again. Denise has filed an emergency protective order for her children, citing ’serious issues’ at Charlie’s house.

According to (Charlie’s lawyer Martin) Singer, a judge was planning to deny the motion when Richards’ family lawyer, Neal Hersh, asked if he could withdraw the motion and refile it before another judge on Monday.

Hersh told E! News that he is planning to return to court next week to argue the motion.

Which, as far as Sheen’s camp is concerned, won’t have quite the same impact as taking a swipe at the Two and a Half Men star today.

“In my opinion [Hersh] did it today to tie into the Emmy nominations, and, in fact, Charlie got an Emmy nomination, so I think it was timed for that reason,” Singer told us. “I wonder if she had a producer from E! there helping her put on her show.“ (E! Online is a division of E! Entertainment.)

Sheen earned his third straight Emmy nod for his lead role as a womanizing jingle writer in Two and a Half Men, which is again up for Best Comedy.

To which Hersh responded, Huh?

“Mr. Singer focuses far too much on celebrity clientele,” Hersh told E! News this afternoon. “I focus on issues. I had no idea that today was the Emmy nominations whatsoever or do I care, one way or another. We went to court today because we felt it was necessary and appropriate.”

“Denise has made her position clear throughout these proceedings and her position is, all the judicial officers and the files have been sealed, but all the things have been clear,” Hersh added. “And she is not saying one thing in private and one thing in public.”

I know that Charlie Sheen has a history of less-than-sane behavior, including visiting Hollywood hookers, shooting his fiancé accidentally, dating adult film stars, doing drugs and gambling. Not to mention that he claims to have bedded over 5,000 women, which when you take into account that old safe sex saying about ‘remember, you’re sleeping with everyone he’s ever had sex with’ it kind of puts you off. Despite this less than stellar personal history Charlie Sheen actually seems like the sane one in this custody battle.

What is Denise claiming is unsafe in his home? What ‘serious issue’ stops the kids from visiting Charlie? Is the toilet backed up? I am starting to wonder if Denise Richards is trying to interfere with Charlie’s personal happiness, taking him to court the week of the Emmys, and giving interviews about what a creep he is the week of his new marriage. Next time you break up with someone and want some revenge, don’t drag your kids into it Denise. Just sew some shrimp into his curtains or order 30 pizzas to his house.

Note by Celeb*tchy: The emergency order was about to denied by the judge when Denise’s lawyer withdrew the papers and ask that they be sent to another judge. Richard’s lawyer denies he’s judge-shopping for someone who will be sympathetic to their case and claims that the judge just realized one of her colleagues, who is currently on vacation, is more familiar with the issues brought up in their case and would be better qualified to preside. Charlie’s lawyer says Denise is trying to get publicity for her reality show while working to deny Charlie visitation. [details from TMZ’s updates to the story]

#12/39 - Charlie Wilson's War

I caught this flick by myself in January because I figured it’d be up for something once the nominations were announced, but I wasn't entirely interested in seeing it.

The film follows Charlie Wilson (Tom Hanks), a womanizing, fun loving, Texas congressman who teams up with high society conservative Joanne Herring (Julia Roberts) and CIA Agent Gust Avrakotos (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) to supply weapons to Afghanistan and defeat the Soviets, thus ending the Cold War. However, he soon learns that with one defeat, he must be prepared to face ten more obstacles. While it sounds rather heroic and uplifting, Charlie really only does these things to see if he can, not necessarily to end the war. He ends up caring a bit by the end, but mostly he's just testing the limits of his power. The film follows him and Gust as they meet with important people, raise money, and push votes through committees. Not exactly the most thrilling material, but then again the film is being marketed as a comedy. What this story really boils down to is a film about a shady politician and a war. The last half of the film even weaves in scenes of Afghanis shooting down Soviet helicopters with a running tally of helicopters down and throughout the film they use war footage and explosions as transitions between scenes, which was a little unsettling and rather hard to laugh at. There’s also a subplot of Charlie getting into some murky territory with a looming claim that he was involved in a night of drinking, drugs, and sex (which he was, incidentally, but we never actually see him do drugs) that could knock him out of office, yet this is equally as uninteresting as the main plot.

I really only liked two things about this movie: Amy Adams, who plays Charlie’s main assistant Bonnie and seems to be the only woman in Charlie’s life who can resist him and keep him in check, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, whose character I hated, but thought he was quite good in the role. There’s a scene where Bonnie and Charlie visit the refugee camps and see that all these people want is their country back that is quite touching. The film ends with a conversation between Gust and Charlie about how doing a good thing doesn’t always end well and it’s exactly how I felt about this film. It was a good effort, with a great cast, but it drags throughout and completely fizzles at the end. When it was over I just felt slightly more depressed about the whole thing.

Nominations:

Best Supporting Actor – Phillip Seymour Hoffman
After finishing this film and knowing that so many of the actors were up for Golden Globes at that point, I said to myself that the only person I didn’t mind winning for this would be Hoffman. He plays a pathetic, schlub of a CIA agent, washed up and with a short fuse, that gets shuffled to the Cold War unit to get out of his boss’ hair, but he’s fantastic in the role. I was glad to see him get the only nomination for this film, but no one will overcome the powerhouse of Javier Bardem this year.

Charlie Sheen: "Boycott Denise's Reality Show!"

If anyone had thought that Charlie Sheen might be okay with the idea of his two daughters being involved in ex-wife Denise Richards' upcoming reality show, they couldn't be more wrong. In fact, Charlie tells OK! he hopes viewers don't even tune in.

“I think we should all just boycott the damn thing,” Charlie told OK! when we caught up with the star at The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences event to honor his CBS sitcom, Two and a Half Men. “You don’t go to court and make a stand to prevent that if you don’t firmly believe in it. It’s just the situation where the world is upside down sometimes.”

Meanwhile, Charlie - who was accompanied by fiancée Brooke Mueller - seemed to reveal they will tie the knot this summer. But was the actor just having some fun with the media?

“We’re going to do it this summer,” Charlie declared, adding that they're tired of being asked when they’ll get hitched. “We’ve been forced into it! We came up with this [idea] tonight. We’re winging it.”

Brooke added, “You guys pressured us into it, so here we go.”

Considering Charlie's history of unpredictable behavior, it's hard to know when to take him seriously...

Charlie Sheen is ready to put his bad divorce (and hookers) behind him and start fresh with new fiancé Brooke Mueller. He’s even ready for more kids!

When asked if he was trying to start a family with his soon to be wifey Brooke, Charlie’s rep said, "That's often what people do when they get married."

Charlie and Brooke will officially tie the knot this weekend. Lets hope this marriage lasts longer than his last one.

Denise Richards once fired a nanny for bashing Charlie Sheen in front of her kids

Denise Richards fired her nanny because she spoke ill of her ex-husband in front of the couple’s young daughters.

Despite the former Bond girl’s bitter divorce and custody battle with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, she insists no one in her employ speaks critically about her girls’ father when they’re in earshot.

Richards says, “I actually fired a nanny once, for bashing Charlie in front of the girls. Charlie is their dad, so if I insult their father it’s an insult to them. I don’t want them ever to feel torn between the two of us.”

Richards only regrets the former couple can no longer be friends.

She tells Redbook magazine, “Charlie is truly a stranger to me, and that’s the really sad part. I know many people who have gotten divorced and remained good friends, and I envy that because it’s obviously much healthier for the kids than our situation. But I’ve always tried to handle this respectfully. If you go back and try to dig up quotes about what I’ve said, there’s not a lot out there.”

Charlie Sheen Still Loves Hookers

Looks like Charlie Sheen's little prostitute problem found him again--did it ever leave? Nici, who manages a stable of prostitutes says Sheen has been a client of hers until last year. The girls don't come cheap either--some charge up to $25,000 a night.

"One day, according to Nici, the unthinkable happened: Charlie Sheen answered an ad. It was the Holy Grail of escorting, the Hollywood connection that can make or break a service," Vanessa Grigoriadis from Rolling Stone reports.

"When Nici dropped four girls off at his penthouse, she found the actor in silk pajamas with 'C. MaSheen' embroidered over the pocket. Sheen gave her a $20,000 check for the girls, and she picked them up several hours later."

Sheen's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, told the NY Post: "This is an old, old, old story. But, if you're looking for a really good story, I heard that Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe are getting a divorce."

Charlie Sheen’s Fiancee Has Perfect Timing

You gotta give Charlie Sheen’s fiancee Brooke Mueller credit. How smart is she to sign a deal with Extra! as a news correspondent? Perfect timing with Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards‘ much scrutinized reality show starting soon. Now they can both be in the spotlight.

The jeans and t-shirt kind of girl was formerly a real estate agent and will continue to flip houses. Not only is she busy with her new gig but Mueller is also planning her wedding to Charlie, which she says will be a small affair.

Brooke was recently interviewed by OK! Magazine and talked about her fashion style, relationship and food. These are the three ways to a woman heart - right? Brooke had this to say about her relationship with Sheen:

“Before Charlie, nobody knew me at all! It’s scary, because I am always afraid of what I say. But I think it’s been a great experience.”

How interesting that she calls her relationship to Charlie an experience. As far as who is the better cook, she says it’s Charlie and that he makes the best tuna fish - yes, you heard me right - tuna fish. I guess he uses really great spices.

An insider tells In Touch that they're very happy and excited about the news.

The two have been married since May, and seem so much happier together than he was with Denise!

We just hope all this drama Charlie's having with Denise over his daughters Sam and Lola will blow over before the new baby is born. Congrats to the couple!

Charlie's Angels Making a Comeback

It's the year of the comebacks, but this one is a little different--or should I say older!? Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson are all coming back to the small screen for a remake of "Charlie's Angels."

Smith says, "We'd like to do it if it's right. If we have a script that is today. It would be fun, I think, to bring us back together for the right reason."

Sure they all look great for being 60+ but can they pull off being Charlie's Angels?? It's the year of the comebacks, but this one is a little different--or should I say older!?
