I really didn't expect to enjoy the Super Bowl this year. Partly because this was the first time in three years that one of my two favorite teams (the Steelers and the Colts) was not in the game, and partly because I dreaded the chance that New England might blow out the Giants. A couple Thanksgivings ago, I celebrated with my neighbor's family and their two fantastic kids in Tahoe. The turkey was in the oven and I realized we didn't have a centerpiece for the table. I had found two empty large fish bowls/vases in the house.

This was a cake that I made for my 7 year old twin nieces' birthday party. The party was at a bowling alley here in town and the party was bowling themed. Pink and purple are their favorite colors, so I tried to incorporate that into the cake as well.

It was one of those days when the higher-ups are freaking out about an impossible deadline at the end of the week, getting everyone else all stirred up and anxious, only to find out later that the deadline is actually two weeks away.
