Beaches in the region are in as good a shape as they are going to be after a rare May northeaster rocked the southern New Jersey shore last week. Public works employees in local towns had less than one week to prepare the beaches for the unofficial kickoff of the summer season this weekend.
Beaches on Long Beach Island and stretching south to the shores of Atlantic City, Ocean City and Cape May are open, but evidence of the storm is still there.

SURF CITY - A year ago this week, residents waited with the hope that their beaches would open in time for Memorial Day weekend following the cleanup of more than 1,100 World War I-era military munitions pumped ashore during a multimillion-dollar beach-replenishment project.
Now the munitions are showing up again, but so far nobody's talking about closing the beaches.
After a rare May northeaster rocked the coast last week, 13 more munitions were found on the beaches, according to U.S.

Apparently JC Chasez heard it was my birthday, so he came to party it up with me at the Underground Pub in Hermosa Beach, CA! My friend told him it was my birthday, so he told me "Happy Birthday Sweetie" and I'm pretty sure I responded with "Heeeeee."

Wanted to share a few photos from beautiful Thailand. This is Phi Phi Island where the movie 'The Beach' was filmed. As our tour guide said it, "This where Mr. Caprio run run run then jump!"

Story
The film begins with singer CC Bloom (Bette Midler) receiving a note during a rehearsal for her upcoming concert, that obviously contains distressing news about a loved one. She leaves the rehearsal in a panic and tries frantically to travel to her friend's side, however, we are not told why at that point. Unable to get a flight to San Francisco because of fog, she rents a car and decides to drive overnight from Los Angeles.

I don't know many people who look forward to a rainy day on a beach vacay, but this plan may make you more inclined. Although normal rates for Malaysia's luxury Tanjong Jara Resort will run upwards of $350 per night, if you encounter more than an inch of rainfall in any 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
