Since London is the place to check your fashion inhibitions at the door, I challenged you to create an outfit that's funky, avant-garde, yet still totally Fab. Let your imagination run free. Mary-Kate has been dressing way sleek lately, and I like it. The petite style maven attended the Burberry show during London Fashion Week looking impeccably chic in (almost) all black. A black cape coat, sky-high black patent boots, and opaque tights are strong, while her blue Proenza Schouler PS1 clutch and red bangles subtly lighten up the palette.

Sandra Bullock Pulls Out of London Premiere

Freshly minted Oscar winner Sandra Bullock has abruptly pulled out of the London premiere of her film The Blind Side."Due to unforeseen personal reasons a trip abroad to support The Blindside has been deemed impossible at this time," says a statement released by Warner Bros. "I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your continued support of the film." The scrapped premiere comes amid tabloid rumors of infidelity involving the star’s husband of nearly five years, West Coast Choppers CEO Jesse James, 40. The usually red carpet-shy James had been a constant fixture by his wife's side during the recent awards season, and the pair repeatedly expressed their mutual affection. Bullock "is old-school Hollywood," James told PEOPLE at the Oscars on March 7 just after her win. "Nobody deserves this more and works harder. I'm so proud of her."

Jay-Z loves London’s casinos

Rap superstar Jay-Z is desperate for a break from his hectic U.K. tour schedule - so he can hit London’s casinos.

The Big Pimpin’ hitmaker, real name Shawn Carter, is currently playing a string of dates across the country, including performances at England’s famous Glastonbury festival and London’s O2 Wireless music event.

And Jay-Z, who harbours a secret love of gambling, enjoys being able to hit the poker and blackjack tables without being hassled by fans - so he refuses to reveal his favourite hangouts.

He tells London’s Time Out magazine, “I’m a pretty big, almost professional, gambler. I’m not gonna say any names because that’ll mess it all up, but there’re these little private clubs you can go to in the West End where you can hang out and gamble, and it’s pretty cool.”

Amy Winehouse to perform a duet with Pete Doherty at London’s Royal Albert Hall

Pete Doherty was supposed to play a concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall before got unavoidably detained, when he was thrown in prison. I hate when that happens! Doherty has now rescheduled the show and as a bonus, persuaded Amy Winehouse to join him on stage for a duet.

A source said, “They think playing at such an incredible venue will be a massive two-fingers to their critics - especially in light of their traumatic personal lives.”

Pete could be released from London’s Wormwood Scrubs jail tomorrow, after serving 29 days of his 14-week sentence for parole violations and drug use. His manager Adrian Hunter said he was “looking forward” to the new gig. The duet if it happens could be great but the party afterwards should be worth the price of admission

London’s Harrods hires cobra to guard $120,000 shoes (Yahoo:AFP)

LONDON (AFP) - To their high society owners, a pair of haute couture shoes can be a precious thing.

But to guard a 62,000 pound (120,000 dollar) pair of ruby- sapphire- and diamond-encrusted Rene Caovilla sandals at their London launch, retailer Harrods went to extreme lengths: bringing in a live Egyptian cobra to patrol the shoe counter.

Whether hiring a poisonous snake is, strictly speaking, the most effective means of guarding precious footwear might be a moot point with security experts.

But it makes for a pretty effective photo opportunity.

A spokeswoman for Harrods admitted that the cobra had been hired strictly for Monday's launch of the shoe collection.

"The snake has now been returned to its owner," she said.

So no need to fear snake bites at the shoe counter, then.

"Not unless you're a burglar," the spokeswoman said.
