1. DO NOT alter their animal's appearance for unnecessary reasons. This includes ear and tail docking.

Why do people think this is okay? You know, there is a faction out there that thinks that the dogs deserve this sort of treatment too. This makes me cry.

So a few weeks back, I told the story of Pride who was my first Pittie love. Now that our group is getting a bit bigger (went from 3 to 15 with the add of PetSugar!) let's all try and take a few minutes to tell about us and how we got to love the Pit Bull. I'd love to hear about your current dogs, any dog that got you to fall in love with the breed, any rescue work you do for the breed, favorite Pit Bull sites, anything.

The first second I saw this picture of Lucy Lu, I got a huge grin on my face. Now? I'm still smiling!

This is Fawn, nanatree's gorgeous Pit Bull terrier. There are so many reasons why I love this photo: the back light from the sun, Fawn's contemplative stare, and her beautiful color next to the green grass. I'm guessing this photo is framed on nanatree's mantle.

The Pitbull is a wonderful dog. There are many factors that make this animal less desirable to the greater community at large, and more desirable to a group who continues to propagate negativity surrounding this breed.
The Pit was originally bred to be a fighting dog.

Truth be told, I like any dog as long as it's friendly. But I definitely have breeds that I'm partial to, and breeds that I don't prefer.
I'm not a big fan of toy dogs, or most of the small terriers.
