I normally go for a more traditional porcelain sink in my bathroom, but I wouldn't mind it one bit if I happened to end up with a Butters-lined sink. According to Kelli Ann, this is Butters' new favorite spot in the house. Me? I prefer the couch, but hey, to each his own.

Dog mom Kelli Ann says that little Butters loves the camera. He likes to pose, and especially likes close-ups so he can show off his perfect pout. Apparently, this is all just a scam to get closer to the camera for a good chomp on the lens! Butters is certainly a sneaky little devil (but oh so cute)!

Pet Dye Jobs: Cool or Cruel?

I was kind of at a loss when I saw this pic of a Westie outside of the Republican National Convention – talk about a serious dye job! I'm hoping that the owner of this pooch used a pet safe dye on his dog, since using human grade hair color, or even food coloring can be super harmful to your pets' skin!

Although I would never do this to North, what do you think about dyeing your pet's fur?

Something must be totally hilarious, 'cause it looks as if Tippy is having a good laugh here! Maybe she saw something funny on TV – watching Funniest Pets and People perhaps? That show always gets a good chuckle out of me.

I have to give a big round of applause to Blanca for making it through every illness in the book, and still coming out looking like she could run circles around me and North. Dog mom crystal tomlin26 says that Blanca's a bit of a "lemon" for having so many health-related issues, but obviously she's well worth the effort.

Do You Talk to Your Pet?

While I obviously know North can't help me decide what to eat for dinner, I still love the way he cocks his head to the side when I talk to him. Even though I sometimes chat him up, I can't say I have long, one-sided discussions with him . . . unlike Amanda Lorber on the MTV show, The Paper.

Don't you think her Westie, Gaby, has the most priceless expressions?! It's almost like the pooch is actually listening . . . but still, doesn't really care what's being said. However, it turns out she was actually speaking to her dog in order to not appear to be addressing the camera:

"I was always very hyperaware of the cameras being there," Lorber said. "I don't really talk to my dog all that much, that's so that I'm not looking directly at the camera. I didn't want to look like I was talking to myself, so we figured out I could talk to my dog."

How about you – do you chat it up with your pet even if no cameras are rolling?

Do Tell: What Was the Name of Your First Pet?

While vegging on the couch over the weekend, I caught a rerun of The Real Housewives of New York City. Just joining one of the families was a new ($1,800) West Highland White Terrier puppy named Aston. With some skepticism (and sarcasm), the Countess LuAnn de Lesseps and fam discuss the reasoning behind the name and mention adding another pup named Martin before picking up the car. Surely, a second dog (and Aston Martin) are not beyond a Count's budget, but hey, who knows?! While the son earnestly agrees with the dad's name, and I've heard of many different reasons for naming a pet, I couldn't help but wonder if the name of this pooch was entirely the boy's choice. After all, I named my first dog Joey after a boy I had a crush on in preschool. Now I'd love to hear the name of your first pet in the comments below!
