This sweet sailor raincoat petmarked by wren was an immediate favorite of mine. North and I both prefer to experience the rain from inside a cozy apartment but potty breaks don't stop when the sunshine does! Because my pooch tends to freeze when too much water hits him, when he needs to go, I put him in his fleece-lined raincoat. Now I'm looking to spoil him with another because 'tis the season, and decided to ask all of you for help!. I've started out with this Seattle Slicker, and tagged it "April Showers" to start this challenge.

Bare Bones: April Showers Bring New Spring Coats!

Spring is upon us so, before we get to the warm and sunny days of Summer, we can look forward to some April showers to bring us beautiful May flowers.

Since daily walks can get pretty soggy in the rain, why not get your furry pal a new Spring coat to keep her dry? I know I have my fave trench coat that I sport in the Spring for its ability to keep me warm on mild days and dry during the wet days here in SF. Of course North has his fave, too. Or so I imagine. This London Leather Coat ($55), for example, would keep him warm and dry from the rain or foggy mist that tends to roll in at our evening walk times. Thankfully, there are plenty of cute and totally fashionable coats out there to fit anyone's taste (your dog's taste, not yours!). I have plenty more in my widget for you to see when you read more.

Spring is a great time to get outside and run around . . . and I don't mean just for your dog! Make it a team effort and train for a 5K that your furry pal can participate in as well. There are plenty of fun runs that benefit not only your health, but the animal shelters and programs that host the events get a much-needed bump in funds from all those entry fees.Running can seem like a scary sport to break into if you aren't the natural-born runner, but Fit assures us that it's easier than we think. Plus, with your fur-laden companion by your side, it just might be fun and gives you a good chance to meet 'n greet new people and pups for you and Fido to befriend (and possibly doggie date)! Pampered Pals: Wailea Collar and Lead

Since we're ramping up for Spring, what better way to do it than adorn our pups – and ourselves – with flowers? I know I'm so over the dark colors and bulky sweaters of Winter, and I think North is pretty happy about it too – since he's far from a snow bunny. Imagine my excitement when I came across the Wailea Collar and Lead Set ($66) seen here from the hip 26 Bars and A Band.

It definitely reminded me of a vacay in the islands, which is a great change from the soggy weather we've been having lately. These suede stitched collars and leads, in either pink or chocolate, are accented with detachable orchids that you can place anywhere. Both to suit your taste, and to make sure one doesn't "accidentally" get too close to your pup's mouth! I've seen a lot of leads in my day, but this is the nicest I've seen made of suede, and I've gotta say, the chic, textured collar would look pretty awesome on Annabelle! Now if only I could make the real Spring flowers bloom sooner . . .

Spring Clean a Dog Lover's Desk

I'll be honest: my desk is far from neat. I've got a collection of dog tags, treats, and toys . . . and all my stuff, too. I think I should start organizing (especially since Savvy's spotless desk is next to mine) and this is just the cute pet to inspire a major Spring cleaning spree.
The Amigos Dog ($62) comes in three lovely shades all with plenty of pouches. There's room for pencils and small items on the sides, my pink notepad on his back and even a hole in his tummy for my BlackBerry! The three desk organizers I've named Raspberry, Blueberry and Blackberry are handcrafted in Argentina with 100 percent reconstituted leather – so ecotastic to recycle usable materials to turn into something beautiful.

I Need Your Help . . . Spring Cleaning For Cats' Litter Box!

No one wants to smell a pet before you see her, and I think cleaning up can be one of the trickiest balances to manage, especially for litter boxes. Many felines are finicky about which type and time they like to use and that doesn't always correspond with keeping the freshest scent.

I've recommended to sprinkle a thin layer of odor-fighting baking soda in the bottom of the box, but I'm curious which litter brand/box you use and if it could improve. So share your best litter products or tips to spring clean the kitty's box . . . and keep it that way well into the next season.

Spring Cleaning: Plant a Pet Safe Garden

You may (or may not know) that some plants can be toxic to pets if they get the urge to munch the flowers and plants you keep around the house and garden. Even some of the most common flowers like Baby's Breath, which come in many arrangements, can be unassuming but totally harmful to your pets if ingested. Thankfully, the ASPCA has a complete list of plants that are a-ok and safe for plant-snacking pets, even if it wears down your patience! This Spring, when you are planting your garden, make sure that you double check the list for any plants that would look great in your yard . . . but can do major damage on your cat or dog's tummy.
