I worry about scratching posts that look too much like my bed — how will kitty know to scratch this and not my frame and carpet?! I know I'm not giving her enough credit, as carpeted wood scratchers are all the rage and some of the sturdiest, sleek designs around. Take this Wedge model we previewed at last Fall's SuperZoo, it blends right into the room and looks stylish to boot.

I'm a sucker for super-cute scratchers and not only do I have my eye on this one, kitty has her whole face on it. After all, a feline outline says "I love cats" in a much cooler way than a carpeted scratcher would do and, while it's on the pricier side, why not splurge on such a fun shape (especially for those cardboard fans out there). The Kittypod Mini ($98) is recycled and recyclable .

Considering cat trees and towers sit out in the same room as your Cherner Armchair and flat screen TV, these purchases can be considered furniture, right? While I've shared both expensive and affordable versions, I began to wonder if you felt these items warranted the same price point as other home furnishings.
Take this handcrafted tower for example – the materials are very high-end (bamboo and microsuede) .

Cat Livin, makers of that sisal sofa and cool climber have previewed their latest creation, this wedge scratcher, at pet industry trade show, SuperZoo last week.
While I generally love their products (especially that scratchy cat cube we gave away in July), I'd have to see this product up close to be certain — it looks slightly less stable for vigorous scratchers but still sleek nonetheless. When it's finally up for sale, will you be buying one for your furry felines?

Ahh, sweet, sweet revenge! If your feline has an itch to scratch (your couch, your bed, your $500 chaise), and you don't exactly have the extra funds lying around to scoop up one of those fab and functional scratchable ottomans, then let your kitty have at it on this super cute, and totally affordable Dachshund Scratcher ($25) at least until you sock some cash away for that designer Kitty Cube - a must have for June!
This scratcher from Imperial Cat is designed to mimic natural tree bark with its unique honeycomb surface, and will keep your cat coming back to scratch since it's infused with pure and organic catnip, saving your drapes from mutilation.

If you've spent hundreds of hours and dollars trying to prevent your scratch-loving cats from destroying your fave couch cover, throw rug, or ottoman, then you know what a genius design this new scratchable furniture from Cat Livin is! It's a no brainer — your cats are going to scratch, so why not at least get some coordinating pieces that are going to stand up to all that claw-laden abuse?
Viesso, which makes modern, green, and totally crave worthy furniture on its own, has teamed up with Cat Livin — makers of the cool Cat Climber I featured a while back – to produce a line of scratch-resistant furniture made of high-quality sisal.
