PetSugar's Street Team: Moochie & Co. Mud Puppies Collar

I've tried three different collars and two harnesses before settling into this, a pink nylon one with a plastic clip buckle, a green leather one from the AKC with the clip buckle, and a red leather belt type collar. None of them held up. The pink one was ragged and tearing easily, the green leather one slipped loose so easily that she could slip out of it after minutes, and she pulled the rivets out of the leather collar from pulling so hard.

We tried an "easy lead" harness - but instead of encouraging not to pull it ended up being more of a hassle and harming her. She had an orange harness that is good for runs, but you can't keep a harness on forever and a collar is more practical. We needed something for when she goes outside to do her stuff and general stuff. We didn't want it to slip or break easily. This is the perfect thing - it's so incredibly adorable (all their collars are) and the nylon is durable. The plastic grips into the nylon to prevent slipping. We get a lot of compliments on the collar and leash - it's stylish - but it's also affordable and durable.

PetSugar Street Team: Roll 'n Clean Is the Best Litterbox Ever

An essential duty of kitty ownership is cleaning up the poop - can't be avoided. Now there are plenty of pricey products that come highly recommended (like the Litter Robot); however, community member Arcsis shared her love for an affordable alternative in the Street Team -this Omega Paw Roll 'n Clean Litter Box ($29):

My favorite thing about this is you never have to touch, or even come close to touching waste. You fill it with your favorite scooping litter, roll it upside down, roll back and empty the drawer. The end. Litter changed. I dump mine into scented garbage bags and toss in the bathroom trash.

I've read a few reviews about litter slipping out when you roll it. You need to put it together correctly, and make sure the clips are secure before you roll. My only issue is that small litter particles and/or dust does slip through the seam, but I need to sweep the stray litter from kitty's paws on the floor anyway, so it's a tiny, tiny problem. Not worth docking this wonderful product a star.

PetSugar Street Team: Sleepytime Tonic

Even though it's called Sleepytime Tonic, this remedy helps nervous or anxious dogs in any situation. It's also said to help with overactive dogs (I'm looking at you, North) for $13 a bottle.

PetSugar Street Team: True Blue Super Fresh Shampoo

Good thing there are plenty of other dog owners in the office, otherwise North would have a serious case of dandruff! I've been wanting to test out all the shampoos I've had stashed in my desk for a while now, but if I bathe my pup too often, his skin gets flaky and dry. Thankfully, Samson was good and stinky (and needed to be fresh and clean for our Dog Day on the Bay) when I asked LilPeaPod to test out True Blue's Super Fresh Grapefruit and Chamomile Shampoo ($13).

I liked the fact that True Blue was not only detergent-free, but is never tested on animals, is hypoallergenic, and is even safe for the earth - right down to the biodegradable bottle. What did our tester like about this shampoo, besides the fact that it smells divine? Find out if it's anything to bark about, and check out Samson's coat in a before and after when you read more.

At first sniff, True Blue smells like something out of a fresh botanical garden, but it doesn't overpower your nose. Good thing, since Samson isn't into all that flowery stuff - he prefers grass and dirt over roses and lilies. Getting the shampoo out of the bottle was easy enough (there's nothing worse than straining with wet hands to squeeze product onto your slippery and anxious dog), and it lathered up quite nicely.

With some dog shampoos, I've found that I have to put a ton on him to feel like I'm getting enough lather and coverage, but True Blue went the distance. It even rinsed off really quickly, just like the bottle promised. Plus, it didn't leave a film on his coat, and after he dried off he was silky and shiny, and didn't smell like a wet dog! Fancy that.

PetSugar Street Team: Kids 'N' Pets Stain and Odor Remover

It just goes to say that even the most well trained pet can still have an accident. Be it an unforeseen, emergency potty break or reverse sneezing turned vomit, getting the stain and the smell totally out is key to preventing a repeat performance in that spot. TeamSugar member wren shared this outstanding solution of Kids 'N' Pets Stain and Odor Remover with the PetSugar Street Team:

I've tried a few and finally found one that really works –it's my new favorite thing. With other stain/odor removers, my dog would go back to the stain and sniff it, so I know the odor wasn't removed. Since using this, he doesn't. It works so fast and easy – I just pour over the stain, leave for a few minutes, and blot up with a cloth. It's worked on all my stains so far, dog-related or not, even fruit punch!

Sounds sweet – I'm thinking I may need to keep a bottle on hand 'cause I've been known to spill stuff, too!

If your dog's trudging through snow or scampering on icy sidewalks treated with salt, it's important to keep their paw pads protected. Granted this can look a bit silly to nondog owners, but it's important since the lime-rock or calcium chloride melts are poisonous to pets. Shoes prevent the risk of a pup cutting or licking his feet, but I can tell you from experience, it's hard to find ones that stay on! If you're in the market for a new set, the ones Reuben wears here come personally recommended by the Goldendoodle's human mom, Beaner, who says:

My husband did a bunch of research and other booties seemed too short. These Neo-Paws Regular Performance Dog Shoes ($34 and up per pair) have a long strip of velcro you can wrap around the dog's legs. They take a little more effort to get them on, but they're so worth it.

PetSugar Street Team: Bissell Pet Hair Eraser

As a prize for winning Cutest Dog at the Worldwide Fido Awards, Samson (and family) got to take home a brand new vacuum: the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser. How appropriate! Coincidentally, LilPeaPod's Dirt Devil was on the fritz, so getting this vacuum ended up being a lifesaver in more than one respect:

My trusty Dirt Devil vacuum that we've had for a few years was on its last leg. We were considering buying a new one, but once we got to the Fido Awards, we found out that we got to take home a brand new Bissell vacuum! I was never so happy to get a cleaning appliance – this thing is a monster!

I knew the Bissell would be much larger than my old model, but I had no idea how cool it would look out of the box! This thing is pretty big, but for the power it has, the size is just fine with me. Putting it together was easy (you have to attach the handle and hoses, and secure all the cool attachments), and the bagless feature is awesome, since all you have to do is flip a switch to empty the container. As for cleaning? This baby rocks! It comes with a powerful attachment to suck up all the pet hair left behind on your furniture, and my carpets look shiny and new. The only downside I could find was that it tends to tip over really easily when you're using the tube and attachments, but other than that it's a dream. Lightweight for its size, it almost seems to push itself! This is one vacuum that's definitely worth the price.

If there is one guarantee in life (well, besides death and taxes), it's that your dog is gonna get dirty. . . and stinky. And, when you're a puppy, everything is new – it's totally fun (for him) to roll around in whatever's lying on the ground, which equals some serious bath time. With all the pet shampoos on the shelves, wading through the good and bad can be tough. But Sugar staffer LilPeaPod says there's at least one that she can count on: Earthbath:

I did tons of research before getting Samson, and even considered making my own shampoo. But, when I came back down to earth and realized I didn't have that much time, I went on the hunt for a natural brand. After talking with my local shop owner, I settled on Earthbath.

Thankfully, the Puppy Shampoo ($12) was gentle on eyes and skin (since he's a bit of a wiggle worm in the bath, we found out first hand), and didn't smell too perfume-y. Samson is a boy – he shouldn't be smelling of flowers.

Now, she buys not only Earthbath shampoo to make Samson's coat shiny and soft, but she also gets the Totally Natural Grooming Wipes ($13) for touch ups – they work great for dirty paws and legs after a romp in the mud. But Earthbath isn't only for dogs, they have a line of products for cats, too!
