The weather outside is no longer frightful, and most of us have freshened up our dinner menus with Summer salads, BBQ and seasonal veggies. If you don't want to just give your dog a bone, whip him up a meal that's decidedly more delicious than his usual bowl of kibble. Here are some of my favorite recipes for doggie vittles for inspiration.

Still searching for the perfect New Year's Eve party appetizer? The latest pet-friendly recipe from the December/January issue of Everyday Day With Rachael Ray is a Gus-tini, a crostini named for a dog pal, Gus. There's some variation to the recipe depending on whether or not you're feeding people, or treating a pooch to a small bit.

The latest pet-friendly recipe from the November issue of Everyday Day With Rachael Ray uses your leftover rice to make Chinese Fake-Out for you (and your furry friend). Let your pooch take a small sample of the frozen veggies and egg combo mixed in with his regular kibble and add some grilled chicken on the side for you. Yum-o!

I'm not gonna lie but, when I saw this recipe, I had to do some research – what the heck is "stoup" anyway? Turns out it's a one pot meal thicker than soup and thinner than stew that sounds great for falling Fall temps. Mmmm.

The look on this cav's face says it all – yum-o! Although, the pot pie is crustless (and served cooled to room temperature), I think pups will still love it even without the warm-your-tum or pie parts that I think of with this dish.

Since Rachael Ray is a big fan of making her own fresh food to feed her baby Isaboo and features pet friendly recipes in her magazine and on her website, I guess it was only a matter of time before she took the plunge into the pet food business!
Dubbed Nutrish, her specialty line of dog food is filled with 100 percent natural ingredients like her famous EVOO, real beef, chicken, veggies, oatmeal, vitamin E, calcium, and absolutely no byproducts. And what's better, a portion of the proceeds go to Rachael's Rescue, a nonprofit organization she founded to help animals in need.

There comes a time, most often when I'm ready to cook my dinner, when North magically appears in the kitchen. Although I've got pretty good immunity against his puppy-dog eyes, I know he wishes I was baking him up a doggie treat! Although he's all about my chicken, I've got little interest in his kibble, so I was happy to spot a pet-friendly recipe from the pages of Everyday Day With Rachael Ray that looks tasty enough for me to eat, too!

I think these treats look fab, not just because I love cupcakes, but also because North's birthday is only one month away! The Penny Cupcakes are named for a fave friend of Isaboo and are safe treats for pets . .

Am I the only one that remembers that commercial from the 90s for Beggin' Strips? When I saw this recipe from the May issue of Every Day with Rachael Ray, I couldn't help but recall that pooch screaming it's BACON! Well, hey, this time it really is.

She's done it again – another delish dish for you and a dog from Every Day with Rachael Ray! Giving pups a lil helping of this veggie-laden meal can be a healthy treat for "peas and happiness." Remember, there can be too much of a good thing so be certain to give pets an appropriate portion of this recipe, substituting it for a snack or meal portion, not in addition, to keep pooches slim and trim.
