Bare Bones: Pet Safe Electrical Cords

If you have a furry little troublemaker on your hands – always trying to sink his teeth into something dangerous – then an electrical cord protector is a must have. Keeping a safeguard around your TV, cable, or stereo cords is a good idea so that your pet doesn't get the shock of his life when he feels the need to chew.

Thankfully, you can get a protector on the cheap at Ikea or by shopping online. This cord protector is only six bucks ($6) but can save you a ton of worry and hassle, and it's clear so you don't have too much of a distraction running along your floorboards. Best yet, if your pet doesn't know better than to take curious chews on cords, it's infused with a citrus scent to deter any naughty nibbles. When I lived with rabbits, however, we had something a little tougher, and a lot bigger, because they were quite the super chewers!

Two Bizarre Ways to Put Your Dogs to Work at a Tailgate

It's nearly game time - since your dogs' tail waggin' tailgate is already in full effect, now it's your turn . . . to get them a gift that keeps on giving.

The ~~stylish~~ functional Tailgate Companion has six pockets to put your pooch to work - use it to hold grilling essentials, icy beverages, or even mustard and ketchup (if he's not already sporting it).

If that's not quite his style, swap out a normal neckpiece for the new Kurgo Wander Collar. Its leash ring doubles as a bottle opener. Kinda brilliant in theory yet, while there aren't any laws about walking a dog while drunk, I'm guessing this could violate an open-container policy on normal city streets. But at a tailgate - no problemo.

Barnyard Friends Hooded Towels: Spoiled Sweet or Spoiled Rotten?

OK, everyone who was on the fence about that doggie robe, here's another inventive post-bath ensemble for pets - the Barnyard Friends Hooded Towel ($20). The wild options include a ducky, froggie, bunny or lil lamb, but do they best belong on LilSugar instead of this site?

After finding Lil's comment about splish splashing turning a bathroom into full-blown waterworks without a similar kiddie product, it got me thinking: So could a slippery, shaking pooch! Yes, it's essentially a pointlessly cute, absorbent towel with a hood giving Fluffy or Fido a double face - is the pointlessness or the cuteness winning out for you?

New Product Alert: Latest Cat Livin' Scratcher

Cat Livin, makers of that sisal sofa and cool climber have previewed their latest creation, this wedge scratcher, at pet industry trade show, SuperZoo last week.

While I generally love their products (especially that scratchy cat cube we gave away in July), I'd have to see this product up close to be certain - it looks slightly less stable for vigorous scratchers but still sleek nonetheless. When it's finally up for sale, will you be buying one for your furry felines?

New Product Alert: Celebrate Summer With Mascot!

I've already shared my love for Mascot so I was super psyched to learn about the new styles they have coming out for the season. Seems like this lil furball thinks surf's up modeling the adoro Aloha line! They've added these Hawaiian-style collars and leads in time for beachy vacay in addition to a Sailors Knot Collar Natural Collection. A variation of the popular Sailors Knot line, the new products are made of a braided rope-like material and can be preordered before their June release. Best known for his quality leather duffles and briefcases, Britain-based Bill Amberg expanded his business to include our furry friends, launching a new Bespoke dog accessories collection in London on Tuesday.
