Lucky dog! First pooch Bo has a rotation of enviable leashes and collars - not only does he ♡ Obama but now he's showing off his true colors of red, white, and blue with a starry leash.
A White House staffer took the Portuguese Water Dog for a stroll around the South Lawn on Oct. 31 and I zoomed right in to find a pattern nearly identical. "Patriotic Stars" comes in collars (regular and martingale), harnesses or leashes in two lengths for $16 and up - are you getting stars in your eyes, too?

Sloooow down there, Bo - I wanna get a good look at you! We've seen both Barack and the girls taking care of the first pooch, and here's Michelle walking (or getting walked by) this cute pup. It's great to have a family of humans to chip in for the dog walking (especially for early morning or late night duties) but who's left holding the leash most often in your household?

Found! Bo's Busy Buddy Squirrel Dude

How radical, I've found Bo Obama's Busy Buddy Squirrel Dude ($9)! The toy bounces wildly all over the place when tossed, due to the odd shape, but the tough rubber holds up to strong chompers after a pup chases it all over the place.

As a bonus, the busy buddy keeps your buddy busy with an opening on the bottom where you can insert kibble or tiny training treats if he needs a little playtime encouragement. Gnarly.

Even More Bo! First Dog Frolics With First Family

Welcome home - what better way to pass time than with the super-cute Bo! Sasha and Malia played with the pup while waiting for the presidential helicopter to land on the South Lawn yesterday and then the trio reunited with a group hug. (Group "awwww.")

I'm betting they shared tales of this cute pup while the president was off on official business, but Bo still shows his daddy love and support, sporting the same collar and leash set as we've seen before.

The Vacation's Over, Bo Is Back to Business!

Ahh, for me, the saddest part of vacation is when it comes to an end but Bo Obama seems eager to scamper onboard on the way back to DC. After spending the week on Martha's Vineyard, he's heading back to his normal life at the White House - naturally via Air Force one, how else would a presidential pooch travel?!

Even though there was word of his very own doggie parade on the island when he arrived last week, the First Dog was a no-show to the big event. Oh well, I'm sure he was booked solid with fetching and frolicking with the girls - he looks as playful as ever coming for the camera like it's a yummy snack, hopefully one of those bags has treats inside!

Bo Hits a South Lawn Luau . . . But Needs This

We wouldn't leave our pets out of a family party in the backyard and the same is true for the first family including Bo in some fun. Michelle (and Malia) walk their Portuguese Water Dog down to the South Lawn to attend a luau hosted by President Barack Obama for members of Congress and their families yesterday. I think I see a wagging tail!

Hopefully the event includes dog-safe snacks, and I'm glad to see the girls' hibiscus leis far from Bo's mouth as that's a plant toxic to dogs! What I don't see is any Hawaiian print on the pooch. Sad. Granted his curly hair makes it impossible to spot the collar but I've picked out some print ideas for another big bash. Hey, and maybe next time the first family travels to Hawaii they'll hit up my favorite Cocojor shop for a doggie shirt, too?

What Would You Want to See Jason Wu Design For Bo?

Lucky FabSugar caught up with Jason Wu in NYC on Tuesday. Like me, I'm betting you recall that stunning gown he created for Michelle Obama. Such an honor for someone so young (yet talented) and quite a few people want to know what's next. Pet designer perhaps? After all, he also took a moment to chat about future first pet couture saying:

Everyone’s asked me this already . . . you know, I’m always up for a challenge.

Well, I can't imagine Bo in anything quite that frilly, but perhaps a stunning collar for big events or maybe even a coat for chilly DC nights?! Hmm, what do you want to see Jason Wu create for the First Dog? Share it in the comments below.

First Dog, First Press Conference: See Speedy Bo in Action!

Noooo, it's not a chew toy! That's the microphone, silly pooch. Think less squeaky, more "boom." As promised, we haven't seen the last of the newest member of the Obama family as this adoro Portuguese Water Dog greeted ~~the press~~ his fans today.
The puppy was originally returned to a breeder, so I bet Bo's happy for his forever home at the White House. He's obviously elated (as were Sasha and Malia), and there were so many photos of his wild South Lawn romp that I couldn't resist gathering some of my favorites. He already looks like quite the lil handful at 6 months, and I hope to see him grow big and strong . . . and perhaps a bit calmer. For their sake.

All eyes are on him - well, mine are at least - but yours can be too when you read more.

New Puppy Alert! Welcome, Bo (Obama)

Finally comes the day we've all speculated about, discussed, and debated . . . and it seems that day is Tuesday. This lil furball is Charlie, the soon-to-be first dog entering the White House tomorrow. Seems Sasha and Malia have settled on an appropriate name that the whole family can agree on, so meet "Bo."

The re-homed Portuguese water dog was returned to a breeder and will be gifted to the Obamas. The Texas kennel is the same one frequented by Ted Kennedy and family, and will be presented by the Kennedys as, you may recall, that family also keeps Porties as pets. Seems the pup had a meet-and-greet a while back and, tomorrow, I hope to have even more information and photos of the six-month-old. 'Til then, join me in a hearty "Welcome, Bo! It's grrreat to finally see you."
