Mama-to-be Sarah Michelle Gellar still takes rather good care of her first furkid, Tyson. Between trips to the vet and walks around town, no prepared lady would find herself without protection and this time, the pup helps carry his own business bags in a rockin' carrier.

The black dispenser with skulls ($6) makes a stylish addition, although she leaves the bonus roll off and simply uses the Velcro straps to attach it to his lead. Plus, with biodegradable bags included, she's lookin' out for the future, too.

Fancy. I bet lil Annabelle would totally approve of these metallic, jewel-toned eggs – stylishly untraditional bag holders won't be seen on just any leash around town. The Kwigy-Bo plastic dispensers ($17.50) have a flip top to fit standard-sized bag rolls and use the hanging clip to attach (and detach) from your pet's leash. How can I choose just one?!

I was perfectly happy carrying around my BioBags, or even just grabbing an old shopping bag for quick potty walks, until I saw these super cute (and biodegradable!) Dog Poo Bags from a Berlin based design firm Jungeschachtel! How adoro are they? Like little poopie take out bags. . .

And, if picking up poop is one of your least favorite things to do, you might just make it through without gagging, since the tops of these bags consist of a cardboard like material that lets you pick up the "deposit" without having to feel your pup's waste. At $30 for a pack of 16 bags, I might have to order some of these as gifts – the hilarious messages on the front are totally the selling point for me!

Are You Calling My Scoopbox Your Very Own?

Here's a product I literally had to see to believe . . . especially when this dog-waste picker-up promised "no bending and no touching"! My Scoopbox is a disposable, biodegradable alternative to a bag – simply unfold, place over poo, step on the box, and lift with a string. It's easier to understand when you see it for yourself so check out the video below.

Like the gimmicky Sha-Poopie, the concept is great, but I'm not so sure how it would unfold in real-life situations – what's your take?

When your dog does his business, where do you put the remains? Most likely you pick it up with your plastic poopie bags and toss it in the garbage like a good owner should. But all that plastic does a number on our landfills! Since today is Earth Day, I thought it would be a great time to focus on one of the most important jobs a pet parent can perform: cleaning up after your pet in an earth-friendly way.

Recently, San Francisco was the first city to put a ban on plastic bags being given out at stores and replaced them with paper or biodegradable bags since the evidence of the damage that plastic causes to the environment was overwhelming. BioBags are being used in one of my fave local grocery stores here in SF in place of the dreaded plastic bag, and to me are a great alternative to the sometimes less-than-sturdy paper bag. But, now that they make smaller bags just for scooping poop, I have a few boxes on order already! Scooping the doodie is a must-do for doggie owners. While most people already have waste bags (and containers to put them in), these super-cute options caught my eye! Baggie Buddies are designed by Mon Ami, a company aiming to offer products that are perky, but not pretentious. In unique fabrics like dark brown denim and red gingham, I'm thinking of adding one to my pet gear collection. This pouch easily attaches to pooch's leash with velcro and will set you back just $14.00 – a small price to pay for an adorable addition.

Two Bucks Reduces Clutter When Reusing Shopping Bags

Even though plastic bags were outlawed at San Francisco supermarkets and retail pharmacies back in November 2007, there are still stores that offer these bags –– or compostable alternatives – with takeout or other purchases. Since, I want to make the most of those bags I do take while out and about, I'm storing them in this pretty pink Rationell Variera dispenser ($2) from IKEA.

That way, when I'm not toting a leash with a Bags On Board or BonTon attached, I can stash one of these sacks in the drawer of his carseat or carrier pocket and eliminate clutter under my sink to continue Spring cleaning even when the season's over.

Swoop In to Scoop the Poop

If you don't like handling poop - but don't hate it enough to buy a PooTrap - here's another way for you to be a hands-off, responsible dog owner. The Swoop Dog Poop Scooper ($20) and Swoop Mini Pooper Scooper ($18) lets a plastic mechanical hand do your dirty work. Fitting either their special biodegradable bags, or your ordinary grocery store variety, attach the sack on the bottom and it grabs and bags the waste keeping your hands completely clean.
