Piglet Born With Cute Heart Spots on His Coat

It looks like the adorable Chihuahua puppy born with a heart shaped marker on his coat has some new competition. Less than two weeks ago a Gloucester Old Spot piglet with unique heart markings was born on a farm in the UK. What's his name? Why, Valentine of course! How can you not fall in love with that?

Orphaned Piggies Love Their Doggie Foster Mom!

From unlikely BFFs to not one but two sets of "pittens," all these animal mommies are doing such good deeds lately! Meet Hei Zi, a dog whose three pups recently froze to death in China. During the same sudden blizzard, another villager in Hongdong city had his mommy pig die of cold, leaving behind eight lil babies. I bet you can guess what happened next . . . but see for yourself when you read more.

Four of the piglets were given to Hei Zi so this pooch could join the ranks of that Dachshund that fostered piglets, too. All four babies are surviving and growing bigger each day – so heartwarming!

Insanely Cute Alert! Piglet Kingsford Goes to the Beach (and More)

OK, so maybe you don't buy into all the teensy piggie hype. I hear ya - some animals that reach "fad" status, especially those praised for tiny, teacup sizes, can have health issues or be discarded. . . . once they grow bigger than expected. Now I'm weak for videos of nearly any cute species doing cute stuff and this mini flick of Kingsford meeting a cat, navigating the steps and frolicking in the water is too much to pass up on my dreary Friday. All You Need Is Love: Dogs Nurse Lions and Tigers to Health

I thought we'd reached the epitome of adorable when I saw the photos of the dog that took in a pair of red pandas as her own, but this story might take the cake in the cute department. Two more pooches in China are helping to raise not only their own growing puppies, but a pair of lion cubs, and twin tiger cubs as well! Born earlier this month, the lion and tiger cubs were abandoned by their birth mother, and two hero dog mamas stepped in to help.

We've seen a lot of dogs assume the role of mother for a variety of different animals - from piglets to rabbits - so I guess I shouldn't be surprised at this pairing. Check out a few more photos of the dogs and cubs in the gallery when you read more.

Could You Care For Chacoan Peccary Babies?

Just like that cute vicuña, I had no clue what creature to expect when I opened these images of endangered Chacoan Peccaries. Turns out the pig-like animals feature similar snouts, but belong to a different taxonomic group, than "true pigs."Native to Bolivia, Argentina, and Paraguay, the animal was thought to be extinct until 1972 when the species was discovered to still exist in the Chaco region of Paraguay.

There are only 11 zoos in the US exhibiting these creatures – including the Los Angeles Zoo where four new babes live. Have you ever seen one? I sure haven't but in the spirit of the season, peek at the photo of a peccary piglet picking at pumpkin (phew!) when you read more.

Now, I'm a sucker for kittens of all kinds, and this wee little precious is no exception. I don't want to ruin it for you, but do you remember Valentine the piglet or that cutie pie Chihuahua? This kitty joins their ranks . . . I think I'm in love!

Could you possibly pick a fave between these three?
