I don't normally listen to NPR, but I caught a story the other day about animals that dance and just couldn't turn it off. In conjunction with the radio program, they put together a video on their website where I could see some of the animals that were featured on the show. One of the amazing dancing animals was a white cockatoo named Snowball.

No birds were harmed in the shooting of these pictures – after all, they're the well-trained professionals of Bird Island in Shenyang, China. The parrots, cockatoos, and other fluttering fellas perform heroic sport feats. From bowling and bicycling to weight lifting and tightrope walking, it's all there.

Forget "ringing" like a cell phone — this bird has even more amazing things come out of his mouth. When the African grey parrot was found and rescued two weeks ago in Nagareyama, Japan, the officials promptly brought him into the police station and were about to start the interrogation process. Turns out this bird was just not talking .

Now sometimes I jump when my own phone rings, but imagine jumping when you hear your phone ring, only to realize that it never rang at all! This bird, Billy, is the culprit behind that very scenario with his owner, Stuart McNae, both seen here. The Blue-fronted Amazon Parrot is able to perfectly learn and mimic ringtones .

We already learned a bit of background on the pups and the referee in Part I, now let's hear more about the action, including this year's "streaker" (!) on the field, in the interview below.
PetSugar: What do you say to yourself when you get up that morning?
Ref: I look myself in the mirror for a long time, in the eye, and I say: 'This is your calling, this is what you're meant to do.'

This kissing cutie is Franklin. The special birdie is an Alexandrine Parakeet, a green parrot known for its chattering, mimicking abilities. The proud pet of lola555, she says he's a sweet and happy bird with an awesome, affectionate personality.

Holy moly, I couldn't believe my ears when I first heard about the story of a Tucson-area couple living with about 800 dogs in a triple-wide mobile home. I'm having trouble even visualizing 800 dogs period, let alone in such a small space. Thankfully, the authorities were tipped off and have stepped in to remove and check the health and well-being of the pups, some of which were found pregnant or missing paws.
