In this week's episode of How I Met Your Mother Neil Patrick Harris' lady-killer character attempted to pick up a woman at a pet store. He was unsuccessful, but his attempt made me realize how often people use cute pets to strike up conversations with strangers.

Is it just me or do people become more attractive when they are with their pets?

I don't know about you, but I absolutely love seeing all your cute pets as our Pet Pic of the Day slides. Since we moved this feature to a permanent place on the sidebar, your pets get more face time on the front page of the site. To see all the old pets we've featured, simply click today's picture and then you can scroll through our past honorees. Pretty special, huh? Well, if this sounds like the perfect shot to fame for your furry friend, it's super easy to add him or her (or them!) to our Pet of the Day group in our brand-new community. Curious how to do so? Well, get the full scoop when you read more.
I know this looks like a lot of steps, but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze!

First of all, join the Pet of the Day group.
Click the "New Post" button on the top right.
Enter a Title - like your pet's name - and click "Insert Image" to upload a picture of your pal.
If you'd like, you can add more details about your animal in the body section.
When you're all done click "Create Post" to submit content.

So join the group and share photos of your adorable pets! They just might end up on the PetSugar homepage.

When first hearing about the daunting task of the Life on White Project, aiming to photograph animals with a plain white background, I thought the posing process and sheer number was the trickiest part. That is, until I saw it included animals like lions and hippos and not just puppy dogs and kitty cats. The photographs are all truly stunning, some silly and others serious or straight to the point. There is an awesome new pet product that you have to check out. It's called Cube. Basically, it's sheets of sturdy cardboard that can be fitted together with built in tabs and slots to create custom designed cat condos. And because it's cardboard, it's super green, light-weight, inexpensive and cats love it. Super affordable, too - only $19.95!

Spotted! Baby Western Screech Owls

This pretty picture and post comes to us from the Spotted! group from member lauren.

I don't own an animal but thankfully where I live has great wildlife including deer (that love to eat all of my flowers on my deck), birds, raccoons and my all time favorite animal that I spotted was baby Western Screech Owls. They spent the entire summer in a huge oak tree just outside of my house. I don't see them anymore but I can still hear them hoo'ing! This picture was taking about 5 feet away from them while they were learning to fly!

Has Anyone Tried the New Everyday Isle of Dogs Line?

Hello everyone, I have a Yorkiepoo and I have tried Isle of Dogs couture shampoos and conditioners in the past and loved them. I recently was at Petco in New York where we live and saw they have a new Everyday line and new treats and was wondering if anyone else tried them yet? I found Isle of Dogs on Facebook and, from what I read, people seem to be loving the new stuff. I did ask for a catalog on Facebook and some samples come with it, I guess. I am just wonder if anyone else has tried the stuff and if they like it?
