Corner Litter Cabinet: Spoiled Sweet or Spoiled Rotten?

Space saving at the max, the Corner Litter Cabinet ($150) is a unique, trianglesque shape that slides into any edged nook or cranny. For any crafty people thinking of an DIY here, there are rear vents and slots for odor absorbing filters, plus that swinging door for her to come and go as she pleases so get your advanced carpentry skills and saw ready!

As spotted on moderncat, there's a removable litter tray to easily scoop the poop and a catch tray underneath for the stray bits scratched out but my real question is could you put kitty in the corner?

An essential duty of kitty ownership is cleaning up the poop - can't be avoided. Now there are plenty of pricey products that come highly recommended (like the Litter Robot); however, community member Arcsis shared her love for an affordable alternative in the Street Team -this Omega Paw Roll 'n Clean Litter Box ($29):

My favorite thing about this is you never have to touch, or even come close to touching waste. You fill it with your favorite scooping litter, roll it upside down, roll back and empty the drawer. The end. Litter changed. I dump mine into scented garbage bags and toss in the bathroom trash.

I've read a few reviews about litter slipping out when you roll it. You need to put it together correctly, and make sure the clips are secure before you roll. My only issue is that small litter particles and/or dust does slip through the seam, but I need to sweep the stray litter from kitty's paws on the floor anyway, so it's a tiny, tiny problem. Not worth docking this wonderful product a star.

How Often Do You Clean the Litterbox?

For this poll, I don't mean how often you scoop the poop, but how frequently you replace all the litter. I've heard different answers from friends with the same number of cats, so now I want to hear it from you.

When I first spotted this on moderncat, I thought it was a prototype for a futuristic creation. However, much to my surprise, the Litter-Garage ($180) already exists. According to the manufacturer's website, it only takes an hour of installation (provided you have an existing cat door) and is a safe way to stash the stinky box in the garage without worrying about a feline taking a nap under your car. And how well-prepared you'll be come clean up time – there's space for a scoop, waste bags, and even antibacterial handwipes, too. Bare Bones: Cat's in Style

After you told me that you prefer a hidden litter box over a visible one, I went on the hunt for a chic yet discreet litter box. So when I came across this line of products on GNR8, I knew I had landed on something different. Designed by Marly Gommans, the Cat's in Style series features a cubed litter box, a pillow, scratching post, and even a door! All made from environmentally sound materials, you can "scoop up" (sorry, I couldn't resist) the minimalist Litter box for $420 dollars.

If you feel like dropping even more cash, the Scratching Post will run you $200, and the Pillow a mere $31, but no word yet on that door. I'd be interested to see how that one looks in real life! What do you think of the Cat's in Style line? Check out more images below.

PetSugar Street Team: Litter Robot

I'm imagining something pretty magical takes place inside this contraption! First off, it looks like a kitty time machine, definitely not a litter box. I guess it's your feline's fecal matter getting zapped off somewhere in the Litter Robot II ($329). Different from those automatic boxes using a rake to autoclean, this product works with all types of litter and uses a sifting system to release waste into a special drawer that can be easily emptied. Perfect for techie homes but nonrobotics experts, the Litter Robot comes fully set up – just add litter, plug in, and say goodbye to daily scooping!

TeamSugar member becmonchu bought this product for her boyfriend's birthday and tells us that he absolutely loves it:

At first we thought the kitties wouldn't use it but they've taken a liking to it right away! It's a bit pricey but so very worth it for apartment dwellers and looks pretty cool even out on display.

Pet Peeves: Can You Help Kitty Think Inside the Box?

One of our readers needs your help! Kiki tee has a little kitty with a big problem with the litterbox. Read his story, and share suggestions with us in your comments below!

We adopted Milo when he was about three months old, after he just had one of his back legs amputated. He always knew how and when to use his litter tray, but doesn't seem to know how to position himself when going to the toilet. He doesn't arch his back but instead crouches down close to the litter and, as a result, he keeps coming out of his box with an awful lot of what is supposed to stay in the box. . . stuck to him. And I'm talking both kinds of stuff that you want in the box (and not on your floor, your sofa, your windowsill, or any other place he makes it to before I have a chance to tackle him with a packet of baby wipes) on his tail, his leg, and sometimes his belly.

At first we thought it was a balance issue, but as this problem continues, it seems that isn't the case. . . and Milo doesn't seem at all bothered about it. He makes no attempt to clean himself off, which strikes me as odd because I thought cats were supposed to be so clean! We want him to be an indoor cat because of his missing leg, but I swear if I have to spend one more evening on my hands and knees sniffing my way around the house with a sponge and antibacterial spray, I will scream!

I love my kitty dearly, but I'd also love to keep him (and my home) clean – does anyone have any advice for me?
