Found! Dolce and Gabbana's Dogs Enjoy Cool Water

Must be a nice life, spending the weekend on a boat in Portofino, Italy! These super swimmers set sail with some fashionable dads, (Domenico) Dolce and (Stefano) Gabbana. With special harnesses for easy lifting back onto the boat, the two retrievers look like pro swimmers and retrievers, naturally. The dogs took turns fetching this familiar item - a Kong!

With a couple versions meant for wet-and-wild times, both the red Kong Aqua and this swirly blue Cool Water will come out on top, floating if it takes a dip. With an extra-long rope in lieu of the tuggable loop, it's possible to reach great lengths when you toss it. Check out the pictures to see for yourself!

In the Spotlight: Buddy Loves America (and Lucy, Too)

Look who made a special visit to the Ugly Betty set – America Ferrera's two furry friends. The Golden Retriever named Buddy seems to be needing some extra love, while Lucy (the Great Dane) needs some extra warmth with that sleek coat. It's so nice to take time out of a busy filming day for some QT with her pets especially when that includes snuggles and kisses!

I wonder how often the doggies come to set, and whether either will make it onto the small screen sometime soon – I spot some true walk-on potential here with these scene stealers.

Found! Deck the Dog Like Nicollette's For Under Three Bucks

This not-too-golden retriever was recently spotted out with his human mom, Nicollette Sheridan. From the looks of it, lil Oliver was taking her shopping by pulling her around like that. – I wonder if he's paying?! I'm loving his fancy neckwear since a bandana is an easy, celeb-endorsed addition to a collar. Not only did I find this affordable everyday bandana ($2.95), I think I even recognize it as similar to one that Thurman favors, too. Super cute!

The Scoop: Golden Retriever Nurses Three Baby Tigers!

It's been quite a while since we've seen a generous mama or unlikely BFFs – just when we were on a roll, the heartwarming tales seemed to dry up! Not so anymore as the latest comes in from Caney, KS, where a Golden Retriever stepped up, and stepped in, for a mama tiger who wasn't feeling so motherly towards her new cubs. Isabella will only take care of the babies for about a week (to get them past this critical state) at the Safari Zoological Park – the three little girls are growing quickly and will weigh in around 300 pounds when they are fully grown . . . much bigger than their foster mama.

The Scoop: Dog Tags Program Matches Pups With Veterans

In honor of Memorial Day, I wanted to share information about this heartwarming program with you! To assist the veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, Puppies Behind Bars has launched the Dog Tags plan to match disabled soldiers with specially trained Labrador Retrievers or Golden Retrievers to assist them in their daily lives, performing tasks ranging from opening the door to helping to pick up dropped items. These dogs not only are new life companions for the veterans, but the fully-trained service dogs would run each person around $30,000 if left to pay for it on their own.

Even More Orphaned "Pittens"... And This Time They're British!

I loved hearing about Lilly Lou the dog and her adopted kittens, dubbed "pittens" (for puppy/kittens) so when Citizen told me about more cross-species caretaking, I couldn't wait to check it out. Ever giving mom, Echo, nurses her six new golden pups, in addition to six orphaned cats as well – I think it's even more heartwarming than the last story!

Holly: Pet of the Day

See that tiny lil pooch in front on the right? That's Holly when she was just a pup! This lovely golden is our TGIF POTD! She enjoys games of fetch the ball . . . often followed by a game of chase to get the ball back. Her dream vacation would include a stop at the rawhide bone factory, a sandpit for digging, and a snowy place to frolic. Afterwards, I bet she'd want to finish with a nice dinner of meat both real and fake. Curious where I'm getting this information? See a gallery of the evidence when you read more.
