Feed the Birds: Fruit Feeder and Jelly

There are many birdies that like fruit . . . and not just smoothies! To offer up this treat in your backyard choose a feeder with spikes for actual fruit, trays for jelly and, if you're brave with the squirmies, a spot for mealworms. If I had to caption this picture, I'd say nomnomnom for sure. The cute puppy found himself a sweet snack and dove right in. Hey, maybe he's just that hungry.

In case you were wondering, seedless watermelon is not on the doggie toxicity list and wasn't included in either of my poison fruits or even more poison fruits quizzes. However, the red melon does have an (un)healthy amount of sugar in it, like many fruits, so it can cause runny poo if your pooch eats too much, too often. Ick. Freeze Up an Easy Treat For Rabbits!

Dogs aren't the only ones who enjoy some frozen goodness of the fruit or the peanut butter varieties. In honor of today's wriggly nosed ruler, I created a specially sweet treat for those silent creatures. They're yummy for bunnies' tummies but don't treat rabbits to too many - nobody likes a tubby bunny!

Dare I call it bunny-liciousness?! Yup, I sure do so read more.

Frozen Bunny Deliciousness

Simple snack to treat my floppy eared pals and you can eat the leftovers!

Ingredients

Banana
Apple
Peanut Butter
Almonds

Directions

Mash 1/2 banana (and discard the peel).
Peel and dice up 1/4 apple (and discard the skin and seeds).
Combine banana and apple and stir in enough peanut butter to make a solid, yet sticky mass. (I used about 2 T.)
Roll into balls, place on aluminum foil, and top with one almond each.
Freeze and treat your funny bunny to no more than a couple of these treats per week!

Double the Baby Coatis, Double the Fun!

Can't resist the Coati cuteness! These two kits reside in Hanover, Germany where their lil hog noses already sniff out the available goodies. The raccoon-related mammals love fruit (as evidenced) and also enjoy insects and small mammals.
They feed by using their long noses, poking them under rocks and into crevices, and using their long claws to dig for buried treasures.

Do Your Pets Have Allergies?

Uh-oh, little smooshy Samson has a problem, and the name is pollen! LilPeaPod took Samson to the vet over the long weekend, having lately noticed lots of sneezing, droopy and goopy eyes, and one other interesting symptom: red, itchy paws. After a few painless skin tests, she found out that Samson has allergies!

Right now is the height of pollen season, and allergies aren't just for humans. It just goes to say that even the most well trained pet can still have an accident. Be it an unforeseen, emergency potty break or reverse sneezing turned vomit, getting the stain and the smell totally out is key to preventing a repeat performance in that spot. TeamSugar member wren shared this outstanding solution of Kids 'N' Pets Stain and Odor Remover with the PetSugar Street Team:

I've tried a few and finally found one that really works –it's my new favorite thing. With other stain/odor removers, my dog would go back to the stain and sniff it, so I know the odor wasn't removed. Since using this, he doesn't. It works so fast and easy – I just pour over the stain, leave for a few minutes, and blot up with a cloth. It's worked on all my stains so far, dog-related or not, even fruit punch!

Sounds sweet – I'm thinking I may need to keep a bottle on hand 'cause I've been known to spill stuff, too!
