With the poison potential packed into some veggies, it's good to keep up on the safe list of human food OKed for pets. Now, I've raved about frozen carrot bits in the past, but equally good are lil frozen peas.
The green circles work well as tiny training treats — they're small and easy to digest, but still better (calorie-wise) than using the same number of most doggie yums.

Calorie counting has gone to the dogs! I've placed several popular pet snacks side-by-side — can you guess which product has more calories for your furry friends? The screen is not scratch and sniff so you'll need to make these choices without a pet's help.

If you're into baking up treats and just like to create your own dog cookie recipes by mixing a smidgen of what you find around the house, it's important to know which herbs, spices, and other seasonings are OK to add . . .

I don't even let North on my bed, let alone join me at the dining table. But now he can practice his table manners with his own Wooden Dog Dining Table ($40).
Unlike most food risers I've seen, this table adjusts to five different heights to fit your doggie (or kitty!) perfectly at any stage.

I just couldn't resist putting up this picture of little Samson as he sat nicely and waited for his Bit O Luv Bistro Beef dog treat. It's just too cute! Bit O Luv's philosophy about dogs not just being pets, but being a part of your family, goes right in line with my own.

Gobble, gobble, gobble. Sound familiar? If you've heard these noises coming from your dog's dish, he could use a distraction.

Treats: don't leave home without them. But, if your travels bring you by water, the risk of soggy yums enters the dining scene. Even though undiscerning pooches will still gobble them up, it's not as pleasant for owners to find these smushed in a pocket or sticking to a purse.

If you're considering a tasty fruit salad this Summer, I hope you remember that peaches are poison to pups! In honor of some other sweet people food, test your knowledge on different fruits and their toxicity to pets!

It's Monkey Day so stop monkeying around and check out this video. Spotted on Lifehacker, the man demonstrates how this (other) primate actually opens bananas. A different approach than I imagined, so check it out and see if you're now thinking "human see, human do!"
