I made a big to-do over all you cat and dog moms on Mother's Day this year, and I certainly can't overlook the men in your pets' lives!

And we mustn't forget, there are single dog dads out there – like sofyasdad – so make sure to send a Happy Father's Day wish to your single guy pals with pets this Sunday! I love picking out gifts for all occasions and have found a few things that I think would be pet dad-approved. Meet Kokoro-chan, the Heart-Marked Cousin of Love-kun

It seems like only yesterday we were oohing and ahhing over the birth of lil Love-kun. Now check out this other 3-day-old Chihuahua, Kokoro-chan. With a telltale heart shape, this pup has the same father (Heart-kun) but a different mom - so these babes are cousins in cute.

Now, we already know that this marking is not that unusual, and I can think of a couple other pups with identifying markings (like Licorice's "L" shape). Sadly my pooch just has an splotch on his neck, but compare these two love marks - Love-kun's in the front and Kokoro-chan just behind - in a closeup shot when you read more.

North celebrated his very special day on Saturday without one very special guest: me. Even though I whipped up that seven layer snack to honor his seventh birthday early, I still felt guilty leaving my number one (and only) pooch behind! Granted I did so in order to see my own dad for Father's Day - and picked up an amazing number of pressies for my pup in NYC - has anyone else left a pet on his birthday, either just for a couple hours or the entire day?

Wedding Cakes for Your Furry Family

Since we're full steam ahead bringing you all things wedding here on the Sugar Network, it's time to talk planning. If wedding bells will be ringing for your pets sometime soon, then you'll want to start thinking about the best part of the whole event: the cake!

Now, as much as we all enjoy stuffing our faces with some cake during big events, some common ingredients can be harmful to animals. Make sure that the cake you get (or make yourself) is pet-friendly. For example, chocolate is toxic to dogs, but it's an easy fix by substituting carob instead. If you don't have time to slave away in the kitchen, don't be embarrassed to let the pros handle it. Animal bakeries are popping up all over the country and are becoming quite a hit here in SF, too. North and I love heading past Bella and Daisy's for their special doggie treats when we're in the area, and bet they could whip up a sweet pet wedding cake. But what about this three-tiered wonder? Britney Still Roams While Kev Keeps it Together for Kids

As Britney's situation becomes more and more shaky, the unlikely hero (that might be a stretch, I admit) in this saga seems to be Kevin Federline. Up until yesterday, he's been staying quiet during this ongoing ordeal, sparking bizarre feelings in myself that perhaps he's not only a decent guy, but a healthy influence on Britney. Yesterday afternoon while Britney was herself meeting with legal counsel, Kevin asked an LA judge for an emergency hearing regarding the custody of their two children who are rumored to be under the care of her mother. According to some sources though, K-Fed and the Spears family are working together at this point to help both Britney and their babies. Here's more:

According to our Federline insider, K-Fed made a call to his mother, Julie Bleak, on Valentine's Day asking for her to help him take care of the children. Bleak flew to L.A. on Feb. 15 (the same day Spears, 25, checked into the Crossroads Centre rehab facility in Antigua). Our source adds that Lynne Spears has also been present for her grandchildren, taking care of the children round-the-clock with Federline.

"Britney's family feels that Kevin has been a blessing and they are very impressed with Kevin taking so much responsibility," says a Spears family source. "Britney's family found out from the news this morning that Britney had left the rehab. Britney has not asked to see the kids because she knows she is not well and she does not want to scare Preston. She has no credit cards or cash. She is basically on the run at the moment."

Now I'm not putting money on Kev being an amazing father, but in comparison to the babies' other parent, he's probably the right temporary choice. DiaperChangeZao. Well, at least Brit's got her new puppy? How did she get her hands on that without going home at any point? Sigh.
