Unicorns Spotted at Paris Fashion Week . . . Or Is That a Dino?!

My pal FabSugar told me about the maybe freaky, maybe fabulous spiders in the Giles show at Paris Fashion Week . . . and mentioned the plush purses carried by the models. At first glance, I thought it was a dinosaur of some sort but then I was thinking maybe it was a unicorn (or even a rhino) wearing a popped collar cape - it's open for interpretation and I'm thinking only Mr. Deacon knows for sure, but place your pets on the wild bags toted below.

Trend Setters: Shikisai

I love the simple style of the Shikisai. While they've got sketches for adults and toddlers, check out their pet line (extra-small to large). Using just black ink on white background, the shirts all feature line drawings of ordinary objects. While I'm not sure I've got the extra $30 at the moment, put this one on my list for things I'll invest in when the economy picks up again. I'm doodling just thinking about it.

Lucky FabSugar caught up with Jason Wu in NYC on Tuesday. Like me, I'm betting you recall that stunning gown he created for Michelle Obama. Such an honor for someone so young (yet talented) and quite a few people want to know what's next. Pet designer perhaps? After all, he also took a moment to chat about future first pet couture saying:

Everyone’s asked me this already . . . you know, I’m always up for a challenge.

Well, I can't imagine Bo in anything quite that frilly, but perhaps a stunning collar for big events or maybe even a coat for chilly DC nights?! Hmm, what do you want to see Jason Wu create for the First Dog? Share it in the comments below.

New Product Alert! Dolce & Gabbana Miss Dog

Of course, FabSugar alerted me to this furry runway addition – she's on top of all the Spring Couture, like this ~~outfit~~ dog bag by Dolce & Gabbana. The blue, crocodile-patterned carrier is almost as precious as that puppy!I haven't found this on the label's website yet – honestly, I was distracted by all those craveworthy bags for me – but, rumor has it, the product's called "Miss Dog" and comes with a price tag of $2,395. I wouldn't be surprised if we see this carrier carrying one of our favorite celebrity pets sometime soon!

North Rules My Roost As a Rooster!

Somewhere under all that fuzziness is my smooshy pup . . . see the lil tongue licking his lips in anticipation for a yummy reward for posing?! I already alluded to the two costumes I picked up for my furry friend this year at Target and, when we went through our dress rehearsal, sadly the cute rooster did not make the cut.
While I can imagine this looking rather adoro on a pup with a rounder head, it was too big for North and kept flopping over his eyes – I couldn't have him stumbling around the neighborhood on his costume stroll! I'm waiting until the big day to reveal this year's costume, but I can never take just one picture.

I may be biased but he still looks pretty cute so check 'em out when you read more.

Do Tell: Do You Reuse Costumes From Year to Year?

North is a Halloween Dog at Work! Well he's not literally at work and it's not quite Halloween yet, but he's still cute in this getup he donned last year. North's gamma mailed his working pup costume complete with tool belt in case he wanted to build his own dog house – or, knowing my rascally pup, tear something down.

Halloween's creeping up and I already bought two outfits for Oct. 31, but I'm hoping to get some additional use out of them in the future.

Let me know if you've reused a pet's costume at a later date (and take a look at these piccys of North) when you read more.
