It functions as a carrier – with a small detachable dome and comfy mat if you've got a meeting – and the separate, zippered section cushioned for your laptop and any paper work. Found! Natalie Portman Is on the Sherpa Train, Too

I'm a fan, Amanda's a fan, and even Christina's a fan. Now, we spot Natalie Portman toting her cute pooch across the country in a Sherpa, too! I have this very model of the popular brand because of its special flap features: You can roll and snap up the sides to let a pet breathe the fresh air, but then pull down the shades for some shut-eye on the plane.

It's also a practical purchase from the price standpoint as well – the Sherpa Roll-Up normally retails for $85 and up but I did a quick search to see what deals I could sniff out. Lo and behold I found the small size for just $55, the medium one for $76, and the largest version for $88. Will you set sail with this celebrity pet trend or does your furball already have a Sherpa in stock?

Pampered Pals: Jet Setter For Your Jet Setters

At first glance, I thought this carrier was waaaay to big to fit as any airplane carryon, but I was wrong! This Jet Setter ($170 and up) rolls upright and, when laid on the side, slides right under the seat in front of you. Meant for pets up to 15 pounds, this bag weighs only about three pounds with the wheels removed. It comes in a rainbow of colors (I like the camo and titanium best), materials like rugged canvas and ballistic nylon, and offers lots of ventilation for your lil guy – there's even enough pockets to serve as your personal item, too. What's more is that it easily straps into a seatbelt for a safe trip to the airport for your high-flying pets. . . it's time for takeoff!

Celeb Redo: A Better Doggie Bag For Susan Sarandon

I love to see celebs getting snuggly with their pooches, so how delighted was I to catch this glimpse of Susan Sarandon and her lil Maltese?! Even so, I'm less pleased to witness the furry-pal-inside-purse phenom later that night.

Granted, the two were attending Longchamp's 60th Anniversary celebration in NYC, so the Legende Satchel was a must-have, but where's a proper tote for her precious pet, Penny? Next time, hopefully she'll carry that metallic trend with an appropriate luxe, gold (dog) bag like these below.

Bare Bones: Dog Poo Bags

I was perfectly happy carrying around my BioBags, or even just grabbing an old shopping bag for quick potty walks, until I saw these super cute (and biodegradable!) Dog Poo Bags from a Berlin based design firm Jungeschachtel! How adoro are they? Like little poopie take out bags. . .

And, if picking up poop is one of your least favorite things to do, you might just make it through without gagging, since the tops of these bags consist of a cardboard like material that lets you pick up the "deposit" without having to feel your pup's waste. At $30 for a pack of 16 bags, I might have to order some of these as gifts – the hilarious messages on the front are totally the selling point for me!

Keep a Dog Park Map on Your Bag

No, I didn't mean in your bag, I meant on! These dog park totes are a casual way to carry your pup's goodies around town and a cheat sheet if you end up in a new neighborhood – just hold the bag at an arm's length like you're admiring it, and remind yourself how to get where you need to go. Get Up and Go: Bring Friendly Reminders For Your Pet

I've got travel on my mind since I just returned from a super-fun wild adventure! Now, I'm waiting 'til next week to share my details of swimming with dolphins and snorkeling with rays, but it was def sad leaving my lil pup at home. Way back when I picked up North from the breeder, she suggested I place one of my unwashed tees on his bed in the crate so he'd get used to my smell and feel snuggly and sleep better. When I left North for the first time, I brought along a square from that shirt for him. Now, he's used to going on overnight adventures alone . . . but, what do I pack in his travel bag? Whether they're going to a hotel with you, or daycare all by themselves, it helps to pack a little travel bag – like this Weekender Pet Travel Gear Bag ($15.69) – for your pet. I'd include:

Dog Bed. If possible, bring along the bed your pup sleeps in. If your dog sleeps with you, consider packing a sheet.
Food. Although North's camp provides food, if it's not the food your pet is used to, his tummy can have a tricky transition. Make it easy on him (and the employees) and pack single meal plastic bags of dry food from home. That way mealtime will be smoother.
Treats and Toys. Consider bringing along some treats for your pet. If you have an overweight pup, this can help with portion control, and bringing those familiar toys will make him feel at home . . . away from home.

Here's a product I literally had to see to believe . . . especially when this dog-waste picker-up promised "no bending and no touching"! My Scoopbox is a disposable, biodegradable alternative to a bag – simply unfold, place over poo, step on the box, and lift with a string. It's easier to understand when you see it for yourself so check out the video below.

Like the gimmicky Sha-Poopie, the concept is great, but I'm not so sure how it would unfold in real-life situations – what's your take?

Smooch-a-Pooch Celebrity Doggie Bags

It's hard for me to wrap my head around the sweet swag celebrities get for themselves and their furry friends. Not just at award shows either. Recently, famous pet owners from Oprah Winfrey and Martha Stewart to Jessica Simpson and Sarah Jessica Parker were mailed these fab Smooch-a-Pooch Doggie Bags.
