I know it would take something bigger than a new guy to shove my number one out of my life, but cat allergies are more common and typically more severe than dog ones. Which brings us to this adorable feline - she needs a new home since her owner is moving in with a new girlfriend who's just not that into cats and allergic!

It's a tough situation, but I'm curious to hear from you - ever sacrificed a pet or sucked it up to save a relationship? (Oh, and if you're in the San Francisco Bay Area, shoot me a PM to hear more about this soon-to-be-homeless cat.)

With a name like Puppy Love, what's not to like? The scripted anthology of 10 short films discusses dog lovers and the people who love them . . . or in this case, don't love them so much. The first film features "Maya" (Famke Janssen) and her cutie pie we recognize as Licorice (playing a pooch named "Owen") – plus very vocal friends sharing opinions on just what's coming between her and her relationships with men.

Eeks! Now I've been called pet-obsessed by many – hello, it's my job! – so I can relate to this feeble defense and adoration for the handsome smooshy. I can't wait to see what's up next!

Do Tell: Combining Furry Families With a Partner?

Now, seems like we can all agree about choosing to date (or marry) an animal lover, but what about a fellow pet owner? Although I adore my pooch, have dated a fair share of dog (and cat!) lovers, and enjoy meeting new animals, I'm not sure North could handle sharing our home with another furball. In fact, my friends joke that I'd come back and there could very well be one dog left standing . . . and that dog would be North – I mean have you seen what he does to his toys?!

Have you ever had to invite another pet into your home, and how did it work out?

Dog Breaks Ice

In this week's episode of How I Met Your Mother Neil Patrick Harris' lady-killer character attempted to pick up a woman at a pet store. He was unsuccessful, but his attempt made me realize how often people use cute pets to strike up conversations with strangers.

Is it just me or do people become more attractive when they are with their pets?

Will Loki Be Mickey's Date to the Oscars?

Golden Globe winner Mickey Rourke stopped by The View today to chat about his pups . . . and joked (or not?!) about bringing his 17-and-a-half-year-old Chihuahua, Loki, as his date for the Oscars. I would definitely tune in to see that since I already melted when he thanked his dogs at the last awards show. No wonder he gives them so much credit – he's got quite a few to keep him company. We all want our loved ones to bond with our pets, but what if your future partner wasn't so into the animal scene? Newly single Mario Lopez recently told People that he could never date someone who doesn't like dogs . . . and I agree! While I've dated some guys who were less than keen on my hyper lil North, they eventually warmed up to him, but it still didn't make me happy. Do Tell: What's Your Take on Taxidermy?

I didn't catch the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards last night on TV, but I did stumble upon this photo today: a soap star holding a . . . stuffed cat. My web research reveals that Stacy Haiduk plays a delusional Mary Jane Benson (aka., Patty Williams after a facelift) on The Young and the Restless, and frequently confides in her cat, "Kitty."

So, naturally (unnaturally?), the actress chose to bring one of the prop cats to the ceremony - what looks like once-living, now-stuffed model is her date on the red carpet. I'm both captivated and creeped out by how lifelike this feline looks - I'd love to hear your takes on taxidermy in the comments below!
