Lucky Rabbit, Next Year the Costume Fairy Comes For You

I've seen the adoro guinea pig costumes from Cuddly Cavies, but I just spotted their rabbit selection and, boy, my nose is twitching with delight at these cute piccys (though I can't vouch for the lop-eared model). Condiment Costumes: Spoiled Sweet or Spoiled Rotten?

Even though they're surely meant for Halloween, can't you see these two fitting right in at your next Summer BBQ? If you're into including a pooch at the festivities (and favor dressing up a dog), what's your take on these two comedic condiment ensembles - mustard ($19) and ketchup ($19)? Even better than the real thing, or will you hold out until a furry mayo costume is created?

Five Non-Costumes You Don't Need to Buy

Savvy's always helping me save money and stay in the black, and penny pinching often means reusing a costume or even using none at all! Although my pup's got a special getup all ready for tomorrow, there are plenty of ways to transform pieces in your pup's wardrobe – or even your own – into a festive Halloween disguise.

Prepster: If your furry friend already owns a polo shirt or even some tennis chic pieces, put it on, pop the collar, and you're almost there. Layer it with other preptastic gear (argyle, bow ties, etc.) - I finished North's look off with his very own ascot.
Pilot: Think Amelia Earhart and put on your furry friend's Doggles and fave scarf. Let her be a high flier while just walking down the street!

Rockstar: A studded collar and rocker tee make your pooch into a lil celebrity – this concept works best if you can enlist the help of pals to follow your pet around, snapping photos like the paps.
Snow Bunny: Is the weather chilly? Grab the coziest sweater and layer it with a puffer coat (maybe even some boots) then let your pup pretend he's strolling the slopes of Aspen or Gstaad.
Superhero: Bandanas are a top pick of those not so into outfitting animals – and nothing says insta-superhero better than a cape! Whether you're using a traditional pattern for him to save the wild, wild West or one of your pretty patterned handkerchiefs to save the country club, a simple addition can get him even more friendly oohs and ahhs on your walkies.

North Rules My Roost As a Rooster!

Somewhere under all that fuzziness is my smooshy pup . . . see the lil tongue licking his lips in anticipation for a yummy reward for posing?! I already alluded to the two costumes I picked up for my furry friend this year at Target and, when we went through our dress rehearsal, sadly the cute rooster did not make the cut.
While I can imagine this looking rather adoro on a pup with a rounder head, it was too big for North and kept flopping over his eyes – I couldn't have him stumbling around the neighborhood on his costume stroll! I'm waiting until the big day to reveal this year's costume, but I can never take just one picture.

I may be biased but he still looks pretty cute so check 'em out when you read more.

Mission Completed: Halloween Costumes For Pets

Halloween's just 10 days away, do you know what you're going to wear? Now, I've always wanted to choose a costume linked to my pet ever since the year I thought it'd be awesome if we went to a big NYC Dog Parade as Lilo and Stitch (after all, I had the long hair and North def. has the huge ears).

On a similar note, can you think of fun costume duos you could link with your furry friend. Consider famous costars – you as Ariel and Fido as Sebastian – or something a touch more outside the box like Oscar the Grouch seen here with a trash collector. Suggest your ideas in the comments below and I'll pick several to reveal next week!
