Tunnels, hurdles, ramps and ropes, feline agility is an up-and-coming sport for many cat lovers to teach furry friends. (Refresh your memory on this activity here.) I'm not certain I've ever met a cat that's completed a course, but I'd love to hear from you! Would your kitties walk right up or walk the other way?

Housecat Housecall Premieres This Saturday!

That's right, doggies aren't the only ones getting their own reality show! Stay tuned for a new show on Animal Planet called Housecat Housecall, where experienced vets help real families solve issues with their furry friends. I haven't gotten a sneak peek at the series yet, but I'm imagining it to be a bit like Supernanny for the four-legged parents who need HELP. Find out more, and catch a glimpse of its first feline star when you read more.

Experienced vets including Dr. Katrina Warren, an Australian celebrity vet (seen up top), and her colleagues Dr. Debbie Horwitz and Dr. Stacy Fuchino, help real families tackle those problems we know all too well like excessive licking and unwanted early morning wake-up calls. This is Obi-Wan, the feline that will star in the first episode – he's a cutey, wonder what his problem is? Not all kitties love the camera like Milo, so I'll bet it will be a tad tricky to catch the cats in "the act." Housecat Housecall airs on Animal Planet on Saturdays at 9 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Sundays. To the Rescue: How to Make Friends With a Friend's Cat

While my house is feline-free, I've got plenty of friends with kitty housemates. Most of the time, they're pretty receptive to my overtures, but here's an easy tip I've learned the sharp way.

When reaching out to pet a cat, approach with fingers tucked under and fist together. Open hands with spread fingers can look a bit too much like unsheathed claws to some cats, and they could perceive your gentle petting desires to be a sign of aggression and lash out. Ouch. Move slowly - so you're not a moving target - and show the cat your hand first to sniff your scent before reaching in for a rub.

Slippy sloppy eaters, be warned. The innovative Neater Feeder protects the floor area no matter what room offers meal service in your household.

This elevated feeder with three sizes - big dogs ($60) and small dogs or cats ($35 each) - and two different colors consists of two removable, stainless steel bowls with an upper and lower reservoir. The top one catches food that falls out before it lands on the floor while the holes drain sloshed water into the bottom section. Beth and Artist Celebrate Matilda, the Algonquin Hotel Cat

Hotel owner Frank Case was an animal lover. So when a stray cat came through his doors in the early '30s, Frank welcomed him in with a champagne flute full of milk. Keeping with the tradition that Frank began back then, there have been many cats that have called the Algonquin Hotel home, and each has earned a sort of celebrity status - children's books have been penned about the frolicking felines! So when Matilda's birthday rolls around, you can expect a huge birthday bash. Benefiting a different charity each year, Matilda ushers in a new year alongside well-groomed cats and people alike. This year, there was even a kitty fashion show. Check out special guests Beth Ostrosky Stern and Artist Knox as they rub elbows with some seriously primped cats in New York's historic Algonquin Hotel.

I imagine it's hard work being the country's most trusted newscaster, and if you tuned into The Daily Show last night, you can see what I mean. If you missed it, Jon Stewart put up the choice to cover healthcare reform . . . or a cute kitten video. He looked just as torn up as I felt when healthcare won out. So, to satisfy my kitty craving, I dug up the entire video he showed for just a few seconds: three cats playing in a tissue box. Awww-dorable!

Misunderstood like no other, "crazy cat lady" is a cultural stereotype that plagues women of a certain age with a few too many feline companions. My single pals with kitties often confess they don't share this fact with prospective beaus off the bat, just in case he jumps to an unfair conclusion.

Enter a new documentary, Cat Ladies - it shows four unique situations where women have "lives and self-worth have become intractably linked to cats" and aims to bring awareness to this phenomenon. We've just got the trailer for now but, when it's released, will you tune in?
