Although we don't see shots snapped of him that often (except recent appearances in Vogue and on Oprah), Norman was the big winner for celebrity pet of the year!The corgi-terrier mix was your top pick (with 40 percent of the votes) and I have to agree that his face is pretty darn adoro. He's got the best of both breeds with the long, stout corgi body and the scruffy terrier hair – Jennifer Aniston's pooch is too precious! I've gotta say that pre-chewing food for a furry friend is a touch eccentric . . . and a luxury I don't plan on giving to my precious pet anytime soon. The Results Are In: Craveworthy Luxury Item

Even though it barely came out on top of its original spoiled sweet or spoiled rotten poll, when asked what luxury item you'd most crave, the Penthouse Dog Potty was the big winner. I can see this personal indoor patch of grass being useful for city living, although I'd only wish it came with its own penthouse, too! It's easy to watch celebrities bond with the cute pets that share their homes and lives, and feel a connection to them as well. However, the dog we voted as this year's most missed pet is one I actually got to meet up close . . .
Gus! This pup already has a special place in my heart since I got to pet and hold him back in June. I can assure you that his owners were super sweet and truly cherished their winner of the 2008 World's Ugliest Dog Competition.

The latest tallies are in . . . and your votes named this Snow Leopard cub, Emba, as the cutest zoo babe born in '08. (Good choice since that face is pretty adoro!) I also wanted to give a special shoutout to Monifa, since the pygmy hippo's piccys were some of the sweetest I've ever seen (refresh your memory here). The Results Are In: Celebrity Puppy of the Year

I'd have to call Martha Stewart's new puppy alert this year's version of our current first dog watch! She picked the cutie Chow Chow two weeks ago, and he just squeezed into our top new pet of '08 poll with days to spare. Our pick for puppy of the year is named Genghis Khan – at about 9-weeks-old now, I'm betting we'll see much more of the lil guy when he joins his new sisters in 2009.

The Results Are In: Most Popular Dog Breed

While the American Kennel Club releases an ordered list of the top 10 most popular dog breeds based on the previous year's registered numbers, I decided to host my own informal survey here on PetSugar to see which pooch our readers picked as the most common. Choosing from the most popular dogs from 2007, you decided that this year's list toppers would be Labrador Retrievers! Considering that this breed's come out on top for the last 17 years and counting, I'm thinking your vote for labs will be right again this year when the results come in.

However, I'm gonna go ahead and award the Bulldog some love 'cause of his smooshy face, of course, but also since last year was his first time breaking into the top 10 since 1935. I'm predicting big things from the big "bully" in the future. If you haven't voted yet, don't forget to take your pick because I'll be comparing our final rankings to the official ones released by the AKC in January.

To kick off our Best of 2008 coverage, I asked which pet bag brand rises to the top. Well, the results are in and, boy, was it a close one! Of the choices provided, the ruler of cute is Kwigy-Bo! I have to agree with you – some of these carriers are so chic, they could pass for my purse.
