Well, there's so much going on, I almost didn't know how to describe it! These dog packs ($16) fit your pet's harness but also have a detachable strap to convert to a wristlet for you, too. I guess it's another way to have your pooch carry his own weight in poop bags, and even includes a squeaker if you want to turn it into playtime.

My favorite thing about going back to school was picking out a new backpack. However, ummm, I don't think my pet needs one. First off, North would probably chew through the sack to get his lunch out.

No, this isn't a fake bag picked up on Canal Street – it's a genuine Gucci backpack with the traditional GG monogram for your dog. Hopefully, at the very least, he's stocking enough treats for both of you – never know what you'll run into roaming the wild, city streets. Better yet, maybe he can double up as your wallet...

While I can't say I'm a fan of the backpack, my shoulders appreciate any pet carriers with wheels. When walking long distances, it's the best way to tote a pet with minimal strain on my back. Even though the Trolley Bag ($178) is too big to vertically fit under the airline seat, I love the divider allowing you to pack two tiny pets or tote bowls and other key essentials under (or over) the adjustable shelf for other trips with just one furball.

Along with that neon messenger style bag, the new Sherpa Sport Collection offers a tote and rolling option. Now the Sport Duffle ($70) resembles a gym bag, but a convenient walk-in side entry or a lift-in alternative from the top sets it apart from your standard sack. It's offered in just the medium now (in either blue or the orangey-red seen) with more sizes and colors promised later this month.

Lil pets, I didn't forget about you! Now I know it's not the most stylish, but compared to the small carrier alternatives, it's pretty nifty. After all, dogs and cats have a variety of crave worthy totes that look like purses, but tiny pets often have those hard plastic cases only.

If you loved this backpack, I'm betting you'll go equally gaga over this 5-in-1 converting to a tote, wheeler, car seat, backpack, or shoulder carrier – umm, wow! The aptly named IGO2 bags are FAA-approved as carryons and include a fleece bed for long trips across town . .

I'd have to say Rose McGowan won me over when she appeared in the Dogs 101 episode featuring Boston Terriers – I knew she was an animal activist, but I didn't realize how dedicated she was to my fave breed! She volunteers with Boston Terrier Rescue Net, helping to place pups, and even had two smooshies of her own. Sadly she lost one of her precious pals, Fester, earlier this year but I'm glad to see her bringing Bug out and about – how cute is she?!

While my lil guy was off having a blast, I couldn't get him off my mind! So, when I was doing some shopping in Portland over the weekend, I was delighted to spot this sign.I totally fell for the puppy dog eyes and followed the arrow to an absolutely adoro shop! The Hip Hound stocks the cutest stuff for your pets from a kitty corner for the felines to a clothesline of gear for your pooches.
