If you have a cat, you know the litter box can be a royal pain to keep clean and smell free! Not only do you want to keep it from repelling your house guests, but it must appeal to your kitty as well. Now not all litters are created equal, so if you find that your cat isn't using his litter box, you may be using a litter that smells bad to him.

This question came up with a friend of mine recently: She has two cats living in a small apartment here in San Francisco, and likes to entertain guests. I asked if she would rather have a litter box cabinet, like the Refined Litter Box, that could hide away kitties' litter, but still pull double duty as a counter top, or if she would rather have an attractive and modern litter box since it would be sitting out anyway like the Litter/Bed Combo. Why hide it if you know it's there!?

Can you spot the piece of kitty furniture? Well, naturally there's not much to choose from in this picture, but the ModKat box is far from an eyesore in this scene. In fact, its style just captured Best Accessory at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair!

Last week I asked all you savvy shoppers and Internet researchers out there to come PetMarking with me on a toy box challenge to help find a way for us to attractively contain all those squeakers and softies our furry friends enjoy! I especially love this luxe toy box for cats petmarked by jspeed and, for the doggies, the vintage style, breed specific boxes from wren are super cute! Check out these – and others – when you read more

Reminiscent of the Pucci Armoire for dogs, it should be called a Litter Cabinet, since it's definitely more than just a box. First, the Refined Litter Box II is compatible with your LitterMaid Elite, Mega, ScoopFree, and Petmate Purrforma automatic litter boxes, has a top storage drawer for all of kitty's accessories, and reversible walls, meaning you can position wherever you have space, and kitty can enter on either side. And, of course, choose one of three wood finishes to match your end tables, too.

I've totes got toys on the brain today! Because many of our pets have more than their fair share, it's hard to keep them from spreading all over the house. I currently keep North's toys in a large plant pot from Ikea – it's meant to be a temporary fix, so now I'm on a mission to find a new container for my pooch's fun things!

Even though the lil guy (or girl?) is just a half-ounce and one-and-a-half-inches long, it'll eventually grow to be closer to seven inches and two pounds. This Chinese box turtle was born at the Bristol Zoo on August 12, and can live to be over 50 years old!
As happy as I am to see this newborn, unfortunately these turtles are endangered in the wild because they've been hunted for their meat or for medicinal purposes for too many years – good thing this one's safe!

It's costume crunch time! If you're worried the outfit of your (pet's) dreams won't arrive by Saturday, think outside the strictly Halloween box and go for a sweatshirt that can keep him warm and cute all year long.
Donned by pooches for weeks before and weeks after Oct.
