Along with that neon messenger style bag, the new Sherpa Sport Collection offers a tote and rolling option. Now the Sport Duffle ($70) resembles a gym bag, but a convenient walk-in side entry or a lift-in alternative from the top sets it apart from your standard sack. It's offered in just the medium now (in either blue or the orangey-red seen) with more sizes and colors promised later this month.
For those of you who love to wheel a bag, the Sport Wheels ($128) fits your tiny pooch and converts to a backpack if you need to run to make that connection. Oh, that's just me?

Ellen Pompeo Takes Off With Gigi But Where's Valentino?

When it's time to fly the friendly skies, I say no dogs left behind! But in this case, one pooch is missing. Sad. Ellen Pompeo and her husband Chris Ivery left LA yesterday with the snuggly Gigi! Their furry family also includes a brown Toy Poodle named Valentino, but I see he's not bitten by the travel bug.

What else did I spot? A Sherpa - the same exact one that Mickey totes his pups in (Leighton has it in green and Christina in the Legacy pattern). Lucky dog.

Lucky Loki, Mickey Rourke's a Sherpa Man

Lookee at Loki as Mickey Rourke and his lil pal got ready to leave LAX yesterday. The actor picked up a Golden Globe on Sunday and, you may recall, also gave a shout out to his dogs in the acceptance speech. I can't seem to see a leash on this Chihuahua/terrier mix, but it makes a bit more sense here (than with Kelly O.), since Loki's supposed to be in the carrier once entering the airport itself. Found! Natalie Portman Is on the Sherpa Train, Too

I'm a fan, Amanda's a fan, and even Christina's a fan. Now, we spot Natalie Portman toting her cute pooch across the country in a Sherpa, too! I have this very model of the popular brand because of its special flap features: You can roll and snap up the sides to let a pet breathe the fresh air, but then pull down the shades for some shut-eye on the plane.

It's also a practical purchase from the price standpoint as well – the Sherpa Roll-Up normally retails for $85 and up but I did a quick search to see what deals I could sniff out. Lo and behold I found the small size for just $55, the medium one for $76, and the largest version for $88. Will you set sail with this celebrity pet trend or does your furball already have a Sherpa in stock?

Found: Christina Ricci and Cute Puppy (Bag)!

More puppy cuteness! Christina Ricci (with no piggy nose) arrived at LAX today with what looks like a new doggie! This is definitely not little Sheriff that I recall from back in the day - is it a new addition or is she toting for a pal? Even though I don't know the pup's name, do you see that pet carrier in the foreground? I've found it when you read more.

The Legacy Ultimate Pet Carrier ($100) by Sherpa seems to be an ever-popular brand with celebs! My fave features of this version is a faux lambskin removable tray on the bottom that doubles as a travel bed and front and top entry for pets to be lifted in or walk in on their own.

Found! Charlie's Chic (and Cheap!) Carrier

In case you were worried, Charlie is still as cute as ever as he grows out of puppyhood! We've spotted cross country travelers, Amanda Bynes and her ever growing cav, visiting LA last month and checking out NYC this week. While Amanda likes to cuddle the dog close, she still brings along a chic carrier for the road. Her faux alligator Jazzy by Sherpa Park Avenue Tote comes in two sizes for pets up to 10 pounds or up to 16 pounds. Although the small and large bags typically cost between $90 and $100, both are on sale until Feb. 18 for $79.97. Store pup's essentials in the zippered pocket on one side or buy a coordinating clutch to bring with. Because I couldn't resist, check out another cute piccy of these two when you read more.

Nicodemus Is a Feline Flier With Evan Rachel Wood

It's not everyday we see a celebrity with her cat - it isn't that they get any less love, it's just not commonplace to bring them out in public for potty breaks and walks around the block.

Except at the airport since, when travels include that kitty companion, out their lil heads pop. This cute cat gets a helping hand out of his Sherpa (naturally) at LAX yesterday.

There's a couple extra tips to remember when flying with a feline so check them out - along with more pictures of Nicodemus and Evan Rachel Wood - when you read more.

Pick a bag. It's much easier to get a cat out of a carrier with both top and side exits. This way you can decide if she's rather be coaxed out . . . or if you need to go in after her.

Pack snacks. It's likely your pet will be freaked out by the noise and commotion so have alluring snacks to let the cat out of the bag (ha ha).

Reign her in. I'd recommend picking up a kitty harness for the flight so it's easier to get a strong grip on a cat while you walk her through security. If a metal ring makes the detector go off, they may ask you to hand the cat through and scan the harness with a wand.

In the Spotlight: Mickey Rourke Has a New Traveling Buddy!

Since the passing of Loki last week, Mickey's remembered his beloved Chihuahua with a special charm necklace. We've heard him talk about how much he loves his many animals and now we're seeing another pal come out to play.

Meet Jaws, his latest partner in crime – they're on the road again! This white Chihuahua got his name because, when Mickey rescued the pup and went in for a kiss, the dog gave him two stitches in the face. He took him anyway saying, "You gotta give 'em hope."

Aww, I'm glad to see Mickey bringing one of his other favorites along for the ride and wish we could catch more glimpses of all of them. Sadly, most airlines have a one-pet-per-passenger rule for in-cabin travel but I'm betting and hoping we'll see much more of this Chihuahua. Follow Famke's Lead For Licorice After a Long Flight

Coast to coast, Famke Janssen always seems to have little Liccy by her side. She brings her smooshy right on board the plane in his Sherpa carrier – is this brand one of your faves, too?

If you're flying with your pet either under your seat or in cargo, make sure you take him out for a potty break as soon as you arrive – he's been holding it for a long time! New Product Alert! The (Improved) Hepper Pod Bed

Don't get me wrong, I loved the original version of the Hepper Pod Beds, but I'm loving this incarnation even more. Let me explain why:

A liner is now removable (washable for "accidents"!) and reversible in snuggy sherpa and smooth microfiber.
The improved metal frame features two legs to make it more stable and a larger entry hole both perfect for those fluffier or chunkier cats and small dogs.
There's prettier color combinations, too! I'm loving the contrasting shades so peep the standouts below.

I can think of a couple kitties who have this on their holiday wish lists!
