In the Spotlight: Ruby and Poppy

I'm filled with warm fuzzies whenever I catch the (rare) glimpse of Poppy and Ruby! Sandra Bullock adopted the three-legged Poppy back in 2005 and later added Ruby to her family with Jesse James. Although Ruby is sometimes seen with her very own doggie wheelchair, hopping on her two back legs, or rolling in a Rio Petote, Sandra opts to cuddle her disabled pooch close when they left their NYC apt last Friday. I don't know about you, but I love it when celebrities choose to add rescues to their families - Sandra seems to realize she has a lot of love and energy to give these pets that other families may pass by!

Jesse James Still Misses CinnaBun (and Sandra Does, Too)!

Last week, I brought you the sad news of this pooch's Long Beach disappearance, and she's still on the loose with the offered reward now up to $5,000! Owner Jesse James continues to tweet new pics in the hopes that someone sees the pittie - this sweet one nearly made me tear up.

Even his wife misses CinnaBun, reportedly saying that she'd give anything, including her Oscar nomination, to get the dog back. I'm not surprised, since animal-loving Sandra Bullock is already a great doggie mom to Ruby and Poppy.

Pet Pic of the Day: Ruby and Buddy's Bath

Since washing your pet's toys is not only good for his health, but also nice to the earth, I give two thumbs (or paws) up to mayabaxter for putting this tip into practice. I also think it's totally adoro how Ruby is looking on to make sure her Buddy is getting the best possible bath time treatment. Don't worry, Ruby - you're next!

Don't forget to submit your favorite photos to our Pet Pics group for a chance to see your furry friends on the pages of PetSugar! Need some help getting started? I know this looks like a lot of steps, but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze!

Do Tell: Do Your Dogs Nurse?

So the other day I asked if your furry friends have any favorite toys. Seems like Samson's not the only one, as many of you shared about your pets' best snuggle buddies.

I noticed in the comments that a couple of your pets like Eegor and Ruby enjoy sucking on toys, too. Ruby's mom says:

The weird part is that she actually nurses on its head! She carries this gorilla everywhere she goes and when she isn't falling asleep nursing on it, she sleeps on it like a pillow. And although it is the one toy she doesn't automatically tear apart, it still gets really gross so I'm always having to buy new ones on eBay.

I know North also does this – do your pets?

Road Trip in a . . . ?

Because I clearly can't say it enough, riding in a car with unsecured pets is dangerous for both of you! I've shared my love for North's carseat, but this clip takes it one step further, explaining some of the risks of tackling the open road with free-roaming pups.

I'd like to add that airbags can severely injure dogs riding shotgun, so please, please, please think twice before allowing a pup to ride in the front seat (or, worse yet, on your lap). Although I don't know the exact details, I do know that cutie pie Ruby lost her legs in a car accident (before she was rescued). Now it's time to 'fess up – when your pet goes bye-bye in the car, how does he travel?
