The Scoop: Gerard Butler in the Middle of a Dog Fight

Nope, not a cat fight - the sometimes heartbreaker Gerard Butler had a furry run-in with the law in NYC on Monday. TMZ is reporting more details on the dog fight involving the actor's smooshy, who we've glimpsed frequenting the set of The Bounty (along with fan fave, Norman).

Gerard's off-leash Lolita was allegedly attacked street side by a Greyhound, Mayfly, which caused the actor to push away the offending animal . . . and later bring his Pug to a vet for injuries. Although the Greyhound's owners claim that Gerard smacked one of their dogs without cause, no charges have been pressed and all the involved pups are OK.

I understand the illegality of having a pup off leash but, as someone who's had her dog attacked unprovoked as a puppy, it's a split-second reaction and a scary thing for all parties involved - do you think there's more to this story? From what Molly tells me, Pug owners have a special love for their smooshies – after all we celebrate "Pug Sunday" here in San Francisco! I shouldn't be that surprised to see this breed as a bag, right? Well, as the designer, Jennifer Liu, explains, it's "all of the affection, none of the responsibility" with this dog purchase. Don't get me wrong, it's certainly way fancier than any dog I've seen – crystal paws and silk linings – and can be scooped up for under $50 . . . my only question is: Are you doing the scooping?

Pet Pic of the Day: Rocco Is a Snuggle Bug

Mellie_608 loves coming home to Rocco. Not only does he have a high cuddle factor, but how could you possibly stay away from those puppy dog eyes? I know I'd have a hard time keeping him from snuggling up next to me at night, that's for sure. And besides, he probably needs some extra warming up after his playtime in the snow.

Change channel to “Pets.”
Fill in tag field with relevant tags.
Click “I’m done” to submit content.

Classiskit welcomed a new furry member into the family recently, and Wellington has been trying to make the adjustment from only child to big bro. Although there may be growing pains, it seems that they are still able to hug it out (or, in this case, spoon it out), and keep each other warm while napping.

This super-cute video reminds me of something recently said to me by a pal who's (let's just say) less pet-obsessed than I: "Dogs have been on the earth way too long, and they're still not talking . . . something must be up with that." Although I know he was only joking, watching how these pups seem to consider what their owner's saying makes me think they've gotta at least sort of understand something . . . like tone of voice?! Do your furry friends tilt their heads at you, too?

Although Molly's Pug Oliver has many nicknames (some of which include Bubbles, Bub, and Fatty), in this pic, the only name that comes to my mind is "troublemaker." Why? Cause beer plus the Internet equals trouble. I guess he'll just have to learn the hard way when he realizes he drunk emailed the neighbors' cat last night.
