Jan 21 2010 - 10:00am No, not just for horses (or other animals who wear saddles), these
Saddlepacks ($18-28) have come for your dogs.
The packs are completely customizable and come in three sizes, so pooches of all proportions can pull their own weight (whatever that may be). Now I like the idea of letting
North carry some stuff like treats, bags, and maybe an 8-oz.

Haha, I think it's pretty cute.
1I like this! And there's also a pack that Ruff Wear does that more utilitarian. I definitely won't be buying one for Pru, as we rarely go far enough to need supplies, but I could see someone who hikes with their dog using this.
2A lot of trainers have actually found that for some dogs its good for them to carry things in a backpack (like giving them a job) because it makes them feel like they have a job (a lot of big dogs need this) and it makes walks more challenging because of the extra weight.
3I don't see it as a "spoiled" or "not spoiled", it more of a training tool for some dogs. I plant to get my new rescue a backpack once we are settled and have him carry is own treats/water/poop bags and maybe my cell/keys. People forget sometimes that some dogs need a purpose/job.
I wouldn't buy one or use one, my dogs are small and I'm sure they wouldn't like it at all! Whatever I have with me I will carry myself and most of the time end up carrying my pups! Yes they're spoiled!
