Dog sees and dog pees. Walks two feet and repeats – such is the nature of walking most male dogs around town. While many city sidewalks display signs asking people to curb their dogs, a new invention by Lennart Järlebro takes that idea one step further. He has invented what is essentially a doggie urinal – a rubber cup attached to the base of a lamp post with a pipe to drain the pee out onto the street. He says that this product will reduce corrosion and save an awful lot of money by adding 15 years to the life of street lamps in his native Sweden. What's left to imagination is the cost of production and installation of these doggie potty stations across any city.

But, this already odd story becomes even more baffling as, rumor has it, that Nicole Richie, baby mommy-to-be (and existing pup mommy), has signed on to promote this bizarre invention. While the patent is pending, ponder your pets going on a specific spot on a specific lamppost – would your dogs pee in cup for you?

Nicole Richie may not be any closer to marriage... but her pooches are! It seems mom (and mom-to-be) already picked up some formal wear for Honeychild and Foxxy Cleopatra at Santa Monica's The Wagging Tail. Her pooches can sport a new tuxedo and bridesmaid dress at her yet-to-be-announced wedding... and they won't be the first. Celebrities like Adam Sandler, Gwen Stefani, and Tori Spelling have all included their furry family on the big day.

The growing trend of including dogs in weddings has increased the clothing options for pooches who receive an invite to a formal event – and no one wants to show up underdressed!

Nicole Richie Collapses

Another day, another skinny celebrity story. While Kate Hudson just won a case against a tabloid for calling her skin and bones, another is reporting that Nicole Richie collapsed at Kitson. We can only assume the fainting was due to lack of energy one obtains by eating food. The Scoop reports:

“She was looking through a rack of clothes when she suddenly fainted and hit the floor,” an “eyewitness” told the mag. “The staff helped her to a chair and offered her something to eat. She shot back, ‘No!’ and mumbled something about it being ‘so hot.’” Although Richie turned away food, she did accept a glass of water, reports the mag, and after about 20 minutes “was steady enough to leave.”

Nicole's One Busy Chick

She writes, walks dogs and now the Simple Life is officially back on.

If people think celebs can't write then why do they get publishing deals? What is the truth about celeb fiction? NY Daily News has a theory, but really, who cares, we all know it is just about extending their brand and striking while they are hot. Some celebs do it for the art of expanding their creative minds (i.e. Ethan Hawke). Others are fabulous like Steve Martin's Shopgirl which if you have not already seen the movie, then get out there and see it before the rush of holiday films hits theaters.

As for the latest introduction to the celebrity author category, Nicole Richie is getting her fair share of publicity. I am only half way through her book so I am not reviewing it yet (stay tuned) but I will say I had no desire to read Paris or Pam Anderson's books so Nicole (or her people) did something right in the marketing of this title. Here she is doing her normal daily routine of dog walking and Coffee Bean drinking.

In other Nicole news, The Simple Life has been picked up by none other than E! Network. The show will be called, Till Death Do Us Part and will include the girls in 10 episodes in a "Trading Spouses-style premise, tending to children, putting dinner on the table and otherwise playing house in order to, in the words of E!, "put the girls to the matrimonial test." There was no hint that Hilton and Richie would do any of their tasks together--and, in fact, the press materials noted the pair would "take turns." It will be interesting to see how the show works with them separately.

The Results Are in: Best Twinsies

Although one can't be too certain whether these people resemble their pets, or these pets resemble their people; either way, these duos were doubly cute this year. As part of the Best of 2007 polls, I chose six celebs and their six pooches to face off in a cuteness duo. And the winner of the PetSugar readers' choice for best twinsies is . . .

Kelly Osbourne and her pug, Prudence! Perhaps it was the matching hoodies, and matching expressions that caused these two to get 29 percent of the votes - but they do match each other nicely. The somber-looking pair had some tough competition with Nicole Richie and Foxxy Cleopatra coming in close behind (bringing in 28 percent) and Drew Barrymore and Flossie rounding up third (with 22 percent).

Kristin's New Laguna b*tch

Yes, I'll admit it. I was a sucker for Laguna Beach last season. Who couldn't get enough of Kristin, LC and Stephen or Jessica and Jason? It was so bad it was good. Laguna Beach kicked off season 3 last night. So far, I am not sucked in. The fact that Jessica is even still on the show makes her look pathetic - let's forget the fact that she is dating junior Cameron and even he is too embarrassed to admit it. As for the rest of the gang, no one is as cute as LC or bitchy hot as Kristin. Does that mean I will stop watching, probably not, but will I make it to the season finale - jury is still out on that one.

As for Laguna's biggest star, Kristin Cavallari looks like she is replacing Brody with a typical Hollywood accessory pup. I think she'll be back with Brody once he gets some press off of hanging with Nicole Richie. I wonder what happens to the little pooch then. More pics of Kristin and her cute new pup so read more
